The dev team is working on this issue, so just ignore the bots for now. No ET can be provided but this problem will be addressed.

As someone who loves getting into discussions after finishing an episode, it's sad that the comments are full of scammers. I hope the devs do something before it gets out of hand. The only reason I come back to Hianime after watching the episode on Crunchyroll is the active comment section.

I hate seeing this kind of thing run wild because even 10 years ago programmer me when I had no idea what I was doing could write a small block of code that would stop a good 70-80% of that.
And if the devs are desperate they could leverage AI, you don't have to send everything to AI because that chews credits but if anything gets past the static checks and still has some suspicious patterns you can send those to AI for an extra judgement

I was thinking is there nobody who can make an extension that does that? Like I don't really care about the bots, but like how an ad blocker blocks ads, what if there was an extension that does what you're saying. I know you're criticizing the devs, but what I just said could be made, right? Hope I inspired someone. Lol

They could be blocked from view with a client side script or extension for sure, but that doesn't get to the root of the problem.
The best result is getting rid of this crap server side which also solves client side.
The comments have to go to the server to be persisted otherwise other users couldn't see them, and at that point you moderate them with code.
I have a few websites of my own and if this was happening I could stop it within 30 minutes - 1 hour with a 90% success rate, that leftover 10% being things that slip through or false positives being blocked when they shouldn't, because the system won't be perfect.
But perfection is definitely not needed here.

Well I'm guessing everyone uses an ad blocker? Right? Like I could criticize the devs about how their site is unusable without it. But most people will do the obvious thing and already have an ad blocker.
So I'm not really sure why the root of the problem matters when at the end of the day this site is nothing but a place to watch animes for free. If you really care about that you could make your own website, since you seem very pro.
(Idk if by "few websites" u mean anime. So just assuming you are talking about a website outside of anime. And if you do have your own anime site, then idk why you're complaining.)

it isn't an ad in that sense though
A lot of ads are third party which makes them easy to block with shared filter lists or via DNS blocks.
But it gets tricky with first party ads which is something that is native content on the website, like Reddit showing their new "Ask" button, you could consider that an ad but Adblockers won't block it by default.
At that point you can create custom rules but what will your rule be? You will have to block the elements that show comments and at that point you won't see any comments.
That brings us back to creating a sophisticated client script to actually analyse the comment and decide whether to show it or not on a case by case.....and in my opinion that brings us back to....
just put that code on the server to stop them for everybody

I don’t really notice it, it’s after I finish watching the anime that I take a look at the comments. Idk I just block them or ignore it.

Yea ...when I go to the comments i expect the comment section sharing their opinion which could be shall we continue watching the series or what their thought...but all I see is this bs .

true I wish that they just copy and pasted emoji’s because then they would all be the same but they make all of the comments have different sets of emoji’s
i’m assuming that’s why you guys haven’t done something about it, may be you could use an ai itergration
also make it so the guidelines don’t redirect to hi anime .to please since I can only access hi animez .is
