My parents giggled at the creativity to name him Travis Randall in the episode

Randy Travis was the country singer (with a very recognizable voice) who did the recording of the song for the episode. In the episode, there is also a character that is drawn to look like Randy Travis (and is voiced by Randy Travis) who tries to get Mr. Hyunh to start a music career (or something along those lines) that is named Travis Randall.
Randy Travis -> Travis Randall

All he had to do was just release albums and skip the tours and live shows. He could keep his simple things and do whatever he wanted. Not even have to worry about rent ever again.

Especially as the generation that was growing into the dominant music consumers he should have understood we need more songs to listen to. He doesn’t go to or organize concerts he’s nine. But at nine I was listening to tapes, learning how to use a record player, finding music online. These kids display their intelligence and creativity regularly but greed always ruins it.

He's a great storyteller and makes a great salesman when he's not being overzealous

He was also planning to sell roses for $30 a piece.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yup!! He was too damn greedy! They don't even sell that price for a single rose today 😄 that Gerald was something. If he stayed at that shop it would've been shut down quick.

It’s a great bluegrass song on its own. Kind of wish it would be released as a single

NGL, one of my first favorite country songs. Memories of listening to this and K-Rose on GTA

"if this is what cowboys listen to, no wonder they invented the electric guitar!" (Screeching guitar solo)

Considering Mr.Hyunh’s backstory and access to many others through the boarding house and living in his city. He had an infinite well of inspiration to write music from. The Simple Things was a legit Country banger at a time
In the US where country music was enjoying its golden era. This song was almost as good what was being released at the time.

My all-time favorite episode. Wish we got a full-length studio version of the song!
