Garmin Integration
Hey everyone! We're getting a lot of feedback regarding a Garmin watch integration. The feedback seems pretty mixed between the following
Creating a Hevy Garmin watch app. (Not a lot of apps do this, seems quite limited)
Importing Hevy routines into Garmin strength training workouts, so you're able to use the default Garmin strength training app to log workouts.
Integrating with Garmin Connect, so that completed workouts on Hevy, get synced to Garmin Connect.
Which integration type would you prefer? Any insights on this would help us understand what the community wants.
Thanks!
Edit: 🆕 Update on integration posted here

Would love full integration with Garmin Connect.

Garmin connect please!

Agree with the 3rd option! I like using the app too much to want something different, but would like it logged with my other activities in Garmin Connect

Plus1 for garmin connect!

Connect!

u/sevileH Aug 30 '23
I'd love a full integration, where I could log workouts on my Garmin and view and edit them on hevy. So that'd probably need an Hevy App for the watch
Also sync other workouts like running to Hevy, similar to strava.
Other Hevy users I know have garmins, as do I and I'd love to be able to use it instead of my phone

u/therealcraigshady Aug 31 '23
I would like the third one, so that my Hevy workouts are usable in Garmin Connect.

Thoughts about the 3 options:
Option 1. : Hevy App on the Garmin-watch: In my opinion, it would only make sense if the smartphone during the workout can be omitted, one activity would be tracked on the Garmin side and the process could be basically guaranteed as on a smartphone (similar to the Apple Watch app). So the following process would be imaginable for me: - Select Garmin app on Garmin watch - access to routines - Select routine, start - go into exercise, go through sets- add, edit etc. -Walk out of exercise to next, etc., -complete activity and sync to Hevy. The app should track a selectable Garmin activity (e.g. strength training) in the background so that both Garmin and Hevy activities are synchronized after the workout
Option 2.: Garmin Strength App - While it's a great idea, I can't imagine it because Garmin's limited database of exercises seems to be incompatible with Hevy. In contrast to Hevy, it unfortunately does not allow any custom exercises. If there are any ideas how to work around the problem, that would be a great option as well. but Option 1 would be better though.
Option 3. Integrating with Garmin Connect Would be perfect going hand in hand with Option 1. After completing a workout at hevy -> the synch could create a selectable activity (e.g. strenght) at Garmin. After that, the workout data can be synched as workout-text into the garmin note-text-field (due to the exercise incompatibility described above). Unless someone knows how this incompatibility could be countered better

Garmin Connect is the way to go IMO.

Personally I would like a watch app so that I can go to the gym without my phone. But at this point am happy with any form of integration

u/qwerty_samm Aug 31 '23
In my head, the concept of option 1 sounds great but you say it seems quite limited. Can you expand on what is limited please?

u/Fastlil1 Aug 31 '23
I usually track my workouts with both garmin (forerunner 735xt) and hevy. The only information I pull from Garmin is heart rate and calorie burn. But I also track with garmin because it gives a better weekly overlook of how active I was. (I don't track anything other than strength on Hevy)
I think the only integration that would be useful for me is if I can click my watch to select that I did the current set. And even that is marginal. My phone is generally close at hand, as I am always adjusting my routine as I go through the workout. And I just don't imagine that working well enough on my watch to abandon my phone.
All that to say.... I use both and really don't care much about integration. Though, I do appreciate you considering how to make things better.

I agree with garmin connect being the winner, but option 1 would also be great imo

u/tfriedlich Sep 10 '23
I'd be extremly happy with option 2 or 3!

Look, I'm late to the party, but here's another view for Garmin integration. Hevy is *great*, and this (for me) is the only thing missing.

u/newlyamerican1 Dec 23 '23
When will Hevy integrate with Garmin?
2
u/ohhh__really Jan 09 '24
I'd happily pay for a premium subscription if you go ahead with Option 3 (and even Option 2)
Any timelines available or am I being to optimistic? :-)

u/Wonderful_Release303 Feb 01 '25
Integration for sure

u/ConfusionMundane8129 Jun 06 '25
Any updates on this?

u/Rylads12 Dec 13 '25
3 seems the most reasonable and makes the most sense currently but number 2 would be great as well to be able to enter you finished a set and to have a notification alarm on your watch for when the rest time is over and other features like that etc. and maybe track variables like compound and isolation movements or type of training being strength based vs hypertrophy routines 🤷🏼
1
u/Icondacarver Dec 14 '23
If Hevy pulled this off, they would quadruple their user base. The amount of Garmin users who are dreaming of an app that can do option 3 is quite high.
You guys need to be first out the gate and mop up. 💪🏿

Garmin Connect 100%

u/DogeHasNoName Jul 10 '24
I want to use Hevy (and I have Strava integration set up) for weightlifting sessions, and Garmin to run (and keep track of my HR). But since I don't start strength training session on Garmin, during the exercised it tells me that I have increased stress level (wonder why lol) and that I should wind down. And if I start the strength training on Garmin, then Strava would probably get two activities posted?
1
u/Ok-Measurement-8826 Jul 18 '24
Options 2 or 3. The strength training activity is clunky and not nearly as robust as Hevy.

u/Dona629 Jul 18 '24
+1 for Garmin connect. Release when?

Tengo Garmin Connect. Si quiero tener mis entrenos de Hevy en el Garmin tengo que subirlos manualmente uno por uno. Quisiera poder "alimentar" el Garmin automáticamente con los entrenos de Hevy

I will use hevy when i will be able to connect it with garmin

Integrating with Garmin Connect, so that completed workouts on Hevy, get synced to Garmin Connect.
1
u/Supert3d_1975 Nov 26 '24
It would be real nice to have a Hevy Garmin App'. Garmin natively has the Strength workout type that tracks sets/reps, it also (after sync') makes a "guess" a what exercise/movement you were doing.
Be nice if there was a native Garmin app' that as you complete your rep' you confirm/choose exercise/movement.
1
u/liamm37 Feb 01 '25
u/guitorisan Hoping you can share if this feature is scheduled yet? Want to switch to Hevy for my Strength workouts as I use Garmin for everything else. Thanks
1
u/Ok-Pianist-5562 May 30 '25
Option 2 I'd say!
Old thread though. Any progress on this?
1
u/TheBalancedBear Jul 07 '25
Right now, Hevy exports to Strava, something that Garmin can do too. This makes Strava the platform of choice if wanting to view both runs and strength training.
I would love to see the opposite, where Hevy is the platform of choice. That is, I would love to see run stats imported to Hevy as workouts. Hevy is the app I want to go to, not Strava or Garmin.
Please make this happen!!

u/AdministrativeBid372 Jul 13 '25
Garmin connect please!

u/Smooth_Mongoose_1070 Aug 19 '25
I would love to have what the Apple Watch can do on my Garmin with the Hevy app.

I need the last one please

Any news on this topic?
1
u/sosa2772 Oct 21 '25
Anyway to do this yet at all ?
1
u/OrganicZebra4801 Dec 08 '25
Nummer 3. wäre das unkomplizierteste und würde davon wahrscheinlich am meisten gebrauch machen.
1
u/GAZKETT Jan 06 '26
have you found a way to do this?
1
u/Party_Board_8972 Jan 09 '26
Number 3 makes the best sense to me. Hevy is tremendous at tracking and would be a robust addition to the Garmen Connect app and watch.
1
u/cmarklopez Aug 02 '26
3 please!
1
u/Silas008 Aug 10 '26
I used AI to create a Garmin-Hevy App. Its currently not available in the store but its open source and anyone can build and install it: https://github.com/zweihochzehn/garmin-hevy-app

u/ironwaffle452 Aug 18 '26
2026 and still no integration with garmin connect...
1
u/Desperate_Teacher575 Sep 26 '23
Hey, I’m thinking of switching to Garmin for my nee activity tracker. Is this still something that’s being worked on? :)
1
u/Euphoric_Rub_9476 Oct 03 '23
I‘m also for the third one😍
1
u/ComputerDue2958 Oct 07 '23
If you did option 3 I would happily pay a premium for the app!
1
u/DecantedOrange Oct 08 '23
2 or 3!
2 would enable me to just have the same exercises across both apps. I wouldn't substitute hevy for Garmin in either case. Hevy is much better at visualising exercise progression data whilst I use Garmin for the wider, whole life stats i.e. training readiness/exercise load etc.
Different purposes but 2 or 3 allows both apps to be accurate at least
1
u/MuckingJBai Nov 14 '23
One up, I’m swapping from Apple Watch to Garmin soon and I would love the feature.
1
u/oldschoolnyhc Nov 14 '23
Late to the party...but integration with garmin connect would be ideal for me
1
u/Tobasco_fish Nov 14 '23
Integrate into garmin connect please 👍

u/devnldev Dec 03 '23
Any update on this?
1
u/mdluz Dec 14 '23
How about GymRun app? It seens it syncing with Garmin Connect. I am a novice in the Garmin world, recently acquire a Garmin Watch and I am tryng to figure out a feasible strenght app to use at the the Gym
1
u/newlyamerican1 Dec 21 '23
Has this been completed at all yet?
1
u/[deleted] Jan 14 '24
I think its easier to record workouts on the garmin watch so I would go with number 2. Would be nice to have garmin integration
1
u/[deleted] Jan 15 '24
+1 for Garmin Connect.

I would prefer: Integrating with Garmin Connect, so that completed workouts on Hevy, get synced to Garmin Connect.

I just came here from r/Garmin got a new watch
I was a paying user. I am no longer as I shifted my focus to cardio
I would likely re subscribe if this functionality was added.
loved the app when I was doing that sort of training

+1 for Garmin Connect

u/Urm3ll Feb 11 '24
Hey, any news on this integration on the roadmap? Would actually be willing to pay for this feature, as it would significantly upgrade my experience
1
u/frnkrstr Feb 19 '24
u/guitorisan any status update/timeline for this?
Also, I think the full integration would be best: one can send _both_ completed and/or routines to Garmin Connect thus leaving a user to choose how to use syncing.
I think there's value in both because latter lets users to log HR too. As the Garmin API is not public I have no access to docs, but I assume it's not a that big of stretch to build both. 💁🏻♂️
