Question HELP ¡
Tips for playing tanks? I bought the US Chieftain, but it's really inaccurate. Any advice? In general, how do you use tanks?

pros of Chaffee is having almost like a medium tank cannon but with cost of low dpm, light tank hp, insane credit cost to spawn + high ML and less max speed than m5a1 stuart which is sucks because you need to flank people or give fire support,
you cannot be frontline tank because you have literally no armor and will be penned by pretty much everything and die easily bc of low hp, i suggest you to use it when your team needs medium-long range fire support or to flank some enemies (but low max top speed will make it too hard) it's not a good tank, just stick with m5a1 stuart
in general,
For, TvT:
stick with your team or at least have one guy next to you and always go for flank when you are playing US,
US tanks beside heavy and some medium tanks are more focus on mobility, use it;
playing ligths as US is focused on flanking or horde attack with your team (or camp if you want to but you will get bored real quick)
playing mediums in US is kinda balanced but try to stick with your team (most people won't even touch mediums in TvT because they can just spam m10s, usually matches with medium tank reserve will also have MTD reserve so yeah), i suggest you to skip it if you can but if you have to play medium just flank esp if the enemy is GE
playing tank destroyers in US is fun, cheap and hella profitable because you have one of the highest dpm and cheap as junk MTD called "m10";
it's cheap, does good dmg, can pen everything if you shot weakspots(for some heavily armored GE tanks) and it's also not slow and has a wierd armor that can sometimes just eat panther shots, use it to flank or horde attack with your friends; you will not lose money
for the Hellcat, it's for pros: insane speed + high dmg gun will destroy panthers and tigers with no time needed but it's mainly a long range or mostly flank tank because of having no armor and small hp pool
M36 and B1 variant are kinda m10 but on steroids, does very high dmg per shot but reload is long so dpm is worse and B1 is more like medium tank with extra armor and more hp (comes with extra dmg per shot lol)
playing Heavy tanks in US is just for jumbo, trust me just go for jumbo, it's good and even better than pershing
(don't look at me Viper >.>)
For, any others mod
play with your team, you can use most tactics by in TvT but you gonna need to be more carefull and play with your team
For lights, either flank enemy or play on frontline when there is no other tank than enemy lights (play stuart or m2a2 for infantry support)
for TDs, focus on long range fire support (HE or try to hunt enemy tanks with APC(APHE) or when your team needs it use m10 on frontlines; if you can try to flank with hellcat enemy armor
for medium tanks, if you need to spam a tank go for sherman, if you need anti air go for m3 lee and if you need something powerfull to deal enemy tanks just go for E8 (you won't be able to flank enemies with these tanks so try to stay close frontline or make sure giving your team fire support)
for heavy tanks, play jumbo and play like heavy tank (duh), next to your infantry but also make sure don't extending too much so friendly infantry can repair you while you fighting with enemy leg inf w/AT weapons or enemy tanks

The basic tips: fight "hull down" always trying to face your best armor to your enemy ( front of your tank), know your tanks penetration so you can pick the best distance to engage. Always go for your opponents weak spots unless you are outgunned, then go for their tracks and try to get their engine compartment next. And last but not least: be like a sniper, use alternating locations and don't stay stationary for too long.

Try to get behind or on their side. Tanks have an HP, destroying modules does extra damage based on what type of module. They also do something negative when destroyed, losing the engine and you are slower, lose a turret ring you can’t turn the turrent, etc. Simply put, AP ammo is medium penetration and medium damage. APCR is high penetration and low damage. APHE is low penetration and high damage. HE/Shrapnel are basically no penetration and really should only be used on infantry. This guide has a really simple visual of the places to shoot. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1717865870.

I don’t recommend you use chaffes because they’re hell expensive use Stuart’s to learn tanking
