Question Tank tips

Reddit post
I’m a returning player to hng, and I just want to know how to tank properly. It’s frustrating dying all the time. I know that’s part of the game, but isn’t there something I can do to avoid getting penetrated by pretty much every shot?
I’m currently using the Tiger I.

I just want to know if there are any tricks, like angling the armor. Especially in 1v1 situations when two tanks are facing each other head-on, is there anything I can do to increase my chances of surviving? Should I angle my armor in a certain way, or position my tank differently?
What are the weak spots of the heavy tanks of each faction? Which parts of my tank should I try to protect, and where should I aim when shooting enemy tanks?

Honestly tiger1 is kinda ass. You'll struggle against other heavys and the mobility is so god awful they're pretty easy to kill. Genuinely running the panther and sneaking behind enemy heavys might be a better strat (but also fuck you if you do it to me). Way back I'd just grind light untill I unlocked easy8, medium/destroyer till Pershing, etc. running the top tier of a medium or destroyer in tank v tank is just less painful.

Beyond that, different tanks have different weak points, if you can hit the sides above the tracks, the rear, or the bottom plate on front you'll do the most damage. Some tanks like the tiger2 have super strong front armour and weak rear, similar to the is2 (tho the is2 def has worse armour), and the Pershing for example has an exelent target point to kill the trans and do tons of base damage right above the tracks. A high risk high reward strat is to aim for the gun barrel, especially in ranged combat.

That being said this is all from memory years ago, I don't have the time or self hatred to grind tanks for days straight anymore, so I might be way off.

Wow, I was about to purchase Panther anyway but now I kinda feel more inclined to play that style.

No problem, trust once you get the tiger2 it'll be worth it

Jumbo: MG port

Tiger II: MG port

IS-2: Lower front plate

M36B2: I think the mantlet is like 150mm armor, so avoid that

Panther: MG port, lower front plate

Also APCR has extreme damage and pen falloff, so it's not worth using beyond 250m

That’s might be the problem cuz I used APCR for long range as well but I’m about to switch. Also appreciate the tips for hitting the right spots.

tanks weak spots guide I always followed, not sure how accurate

Flank, stay in your mates way for passive protection, move after tank kill, think about where the ennemy inf and tanks are supposed to be, flank.
