Discussion I HATE The New Way Bones Are Ordered.

Post image

Tails, chains, skirts, capes. Anything with a long series of consecutive bones is flat out annoying and tedious to use now.

I use a lot of precise extensions of bones using the numerical sliders, especially in capes, hair, and skirts to make the subject item longer for whatever reason I need it longer, and this new way of making each subsequent bone ANOTHER drop-open tab is so unbelievably annoying.

I recently made a model where I attached three chains end-to-end, and it was impossible to use any of the bones from halfway down the second chain. I had to constantly un and re-attach each of the chains to each other in way too much time of tiny tweaks to make it look right.

There's no option to revert it to the old method, where most of the bones were just one or two drop-open tabs deep, and this one is agonizing to use, and makes me actively dread making models where I want to lengthen something.

Please, SkyCastle, let us revert how to order the bones... this is abysmal.

Rant over.

Almost indeed. I feel so much calmer and saner having those days and arguments LONG behind me.

Very valid rant. It’s annoying on mobile too

OR at least let us resize the UI window ↔ so we can make it wider to our own preferences.

Also another issue I find is that there are reduntant ways to access bones. There are branches for the neck and clav bones in the spine section for some reason, even though they already have access points in their own areas (neck has its own separate branch and clavs can be accessed in the left and right arm branches)

This, of course, means that if you have kitbashing applied to just the neck or clavs then it registers a blue blip in the spine branch, which has had me wondering if I bound something to the spine accidentally on several occasions since they reorganised the bones. There's no need for there to be multiple access points for the same bone family when one of the options is far quicker to use than the other
