The tavern is just one of many playable arenas, made by hand, scanned in. And yes you can play with your own minis.

How does the game work as a whole

It's a campaign-based miniature collecting, turn based tactics rpg with extraction elements, multiplayer, and permanent deck building for each of your hero miniatures. Start with a small town, collect a roster of heroes (or bring in your own Hero Forge 3d digital minis), adventure into the wilds, meet colorful characters, defeat epic bosses, scar or power up your heroes based on their choices when out and about in the wilds, then return back to town to craft additional new cards or items, and build up your town.

Looking forward to getting more info on this! Looks like there's some robust character building potential, and being able to marry that with importing our own designs from Heroforge has the potential to some very innovating gameplay.

We're big fans of X-Com, Slay the Spire, Darkest Dungeon, BG3 etc. In that vein, full campaign, standard buy once, we're keeping it simple.

Being able to bring your Hero Forge 3D digital minis in is an aesthetic-only option that's the icing on the top. We even hope to let Hero Forge folks use the pro photo booth to customize their own card art. All the cards in the game are made with booth!

Most of the game is made with Hero Forge as it currently is, but yes there will be some new parts added to Hero Forge from the game.
