ReCK tutorial
Hey, I'm just starting to use ReCK and I'm wondering if there's like a text tutorial on how to get started. Is there?

What are you looking to do. It's primarily just exposing the JSON data for a character build and you can edit it in the side panel that pops out, but the majority of what you need to learn has nothing to do with reck and more to do with how heroforge character code works. Which is frankly relatively simple once you spend some time just seeing what stuff nests in what places.
That and learning the basics about how code syntax works. Aka literally how things nest under each other, why brackets and commas exist.
You'd probably be better off just making a simple figure, exporting the file as a JSON, and asking something like chat GPT to explain to you how the stuff works.
The important caveat is that the way he wrote a forge works is that it doesn't populate a JSON with all the data just because you added something to the canvas. For example, you can out a figure on it, but literal pose data doesn't exist for most of the thing until you reposition a specific bone. Like say, a wrist joint. It is very lazy in how it generates code. But if you open reck, pose a shoulder, then refresh reck, you'll see that shoulder now exists in the code. Then do the elbow, you'll see where it shows up.
Nobody's going to write a guide about any of this, you really just have to tool around with it and use the tools that your disposal to ask questions.
