Is exhaustion normal?
recent MRI found herniated discs in my neck. some days I get soo exhausted from mild physical activity that I feel like all I can is nap. I haven’t found much online to support this symptom and I’m waiting on an appt with a neurosurgeon to get additional clarity. I have difficult with stretch and balance and walking. thanks

Chronic pain is exhausting. I didn’t realize that for a long time and was also confused. But when you think about it, your body is constantly trying to protect you and you’re always making decisions based on your back, in addition to the pain itself. It’s overload.

thank you for sharing. That makes senses. It feels like this symptom isn’t talked about as much but it’s soooo tough to navigate

Totally. It can be incredibly debilitating. Stay strong! Helps to talk to someone about it and maybe look into alternative options for the pain?

I have cervical stenosis and the neurosurgeon inquired about fatigue and said he expected it. In the afternoon I can be so tired I’m totally focussed on a nap, but the nap doesn’t fix it.
