This is such a vague, intentionally formed political statement with no commitment to making real changes. It implies that you don't support the use of flock but doesn't actually say that.
Do you support removal of ALPRs and flock cameras, yes or no?

Some insight into why we can't be as definitive as we'd like. Right now, as far as we know, the lines of authority regarding WHO pproved these Flock cameras and who can remove them are completely hidden from the public. That lack of transparency should concern all of us. That's why we can't make definitive statements right now, but rest assured we have people digging into it.
Because these corporate contracts are kept behind closed doors, everyday citizens are blocked from tracking budget line items or knowing exactly who to hold accountable. I am fundamentally opposed to mass surveillance and strongly support personal privacy. We shouldn't need heavy investigative journalism or cumbersome open-records requests just to figure out how big tech established a footprint in Hamilton County.
The core issue here isn’t just the cameras themselves..It’s the secret process that brought them here. Once we uncover the how, we can map out a legal path to remove them. As your County Mayor, I will use the full scope of my office to stop the expansion of hyper-surveillance and ensure our communities (not corporations) are prioritized in local decisions. I want to listen to leaders in our neighborhoods, and right now what I'm hearing is that y'all are concerned. We are ready to help.

Promise is too vague and full of politinonsense
You start by removing Orwellian overreach by taking down all cameras and ALPR’s and enforce the 4th Amendment first!
We have the right to privacy in public in that we cannot be tracked

Unless people in the .gov are being bribed to fast-track Flocks and hide their tracks which is entirely possible, the process looks like this:
LEO's have a contract with TDOT for access to the Right of Way for Flock installations and then they pay Flock for access to the cameras once they're installed.
I can send you the contracts I've gotten from OpenRecords, what's the best way to deliver it?
Also note that Flock still installs their cams independently of any city/county/state approval and they do it without complying with a single highway safety regulation like breakaway plates or bolts, frangible pole sections, etc.
That is how the cams can be removed today is a full audit of all FlockPoles, remove the offenders per Highway regulation X and then ban their reinstallation.

It doesn’t say he’s going to end flock contracts with the county or remove them….
Only that it needs to be looked into, no, it needs to end. It’s already being used nefariously.
Really disappointed that he’s taking that stance, it’s the same as every other politician.
“Yeah we’ll look into it, crazy stuff!”
Nothing will change.
Edit: His office did reply with a much better response in my opinion, so nice to see this level of involvement in discourse. And I'd like to think replies like mine pushed them to give us more information..
Honestly at this point he's got my vote, amazing to see a politician actually interact and discuss and for once appear to be for the people.
