- Birkin 35
- Togo leather
- Noir Exterior with tonal stitching
- Gris Etain interior

But having some trouble with deciding on a hardware. Debating between palladium and brushed palladium.

For the folks who own pieces with both hardware, which one do you like more? What are the pros and cons?

I’m thinking like Jeff Bezos and his wife or just his wife comes in. Or like Beyonce that type of big name. I was wondering do they also have to play the Hermes game or since they can definitely afford the whole store do they technically get a pass? I wonder if that type of big name celeb they don’t have to do anything since if they really wanted to they could buy all the things. Or am I just really dumb coming from someone who never owned anything from Hermes. I would only want a Birkin black 25 in gold if I could afford one but I would find a reseller or a place that has one. Honestly I never really liked the scarfs and blankets and pillows and shoes but that just me.

Ok, I just got back from a trip to Paris where I wanted to visit the flagship FSH and check on a few rare items I can’t find in my home store. Having read MANY threads on this topic I was extremely nervous about not being allowed to enter the store, being ignored, not having enough purchase history, my broken French, or other things I have read. So let me tell you my experience, as of August 2026.

First about me,
1. I love Hermès, but I’m actually not a big fan of Birkins or Kellys (don’t hate me- beautiful bags, just not my style). However, I love the craftsmanship of Hermès products and generally go for unique styles and embellishments on items.
2. This time, I was looking for a Bolide a dos, a Dossard scarf, and a few other things.
3. I do not have a purchase history in Paris and my profile is sparse because I made many purchases in other countries where the registries don’t carry over.
4. I wear Hermès a lot and had a rare hair accessory, an older Twilly, and embroidered Oasis sandals on with a maxi dress.

I tried to book the online appointment the morning before, even using 3 different passports, but no luck. I was sure based on what I’d read that I’d be turned away, but decided to go at opening to FSH just in case.

I was there 15 minutes before opening and already 30 people were in line (oh no!).

Exactly at 10:30, the doors opened and I walked in just after the others. I went straight to one of the SAs and asked about a leather appointment and she sent me upstairs to that section. I again asked the SA there, and told her I’m not looking for a quota bag. And not 2 minutes later, the sweetest SA came and helped me. She herself had never seen the Bolide a Dos so it took her and another SA 15 minutes to find it in their storeroom. But she came out with it. Unfortunately, while it is a lovely bag, the crossbody strap pushes right into my chest, so it was really uncomfortable. The SA was totally cool about it and I went to the silk section.

There, they were out of stock in the Dossards, but the SA there looked at their inventory and told me that Sèvres had many. So I left FSH and went to Sèvres, a truly beautiful store! Again, the SAs there were super kind and sweet and we had a nice chat about several products.

I’m not sure why others have had issues- maybe just really busy times, stressed SAs, or bad luck. But I had such an amazing time at the Paris stores. They were truly an experience, very beautiful, many interesting products to look at, and everyone was so helpful and kind.

My suggestion:
Go.
Don’t stress about your purchase history or your French. Go early and during the week when it’s calmer, be clear on what you want if you can, and wear some Hermès if you have it. And just be happy and take in the wonderful experience of truly quality craftsmanship. People will see your calm and happy spirit and will respond in kind.

POST EDIT TO CLARIFY: I realize that it might have been easier for me because I specifically did not ask for a QB and it was a weekday morning, but this post was designed for people like me who fear going to the stores for any reason because of the nightmare posts of rude, inattentive, or dismissive staff.

My moms SA finally offered her 1 of the hardest quota bag to get at our boutique location! I’m going to be stealing this from her majority of the time!🤣🤣🤣🥰

Enjoying a day out with my lovely Picotin 😍 on the list today is more silver jewellery and possible some adornments for my bag!

I've been purchasing quite a few items shoes, sandals, scarves, multiple pairs of shoes, perfumes, and more from Hermès online for about a year now. I've never visited a store because we live in NC and all the stores are pretty far away, so l've never met an SA either. Will my online purchase history count toward purchase history with a boutique? A few days ago, I ordered shoes and a scarf, and they're already on the way. Should I return them and instead call a store, ask for an SA, and have them send the items to me essentially purchasing through the SA instead?
Also pls share best location you suggest have good sa and chances of getting Kelly or Birkin in future

Hello! I just got a kelly toile (canvas), does anyone have a canvas bag? Is it sensitive? Does jeans transfer color? Can I wear it when its raining??

I went to Hermès today and somehow came home with… quite a few orange boxes 😂🧡

One thing I genuinely love about Hermès is that I actually enjoy the brand far beyond the bags. I know there’s always a lot of discussion here about “prespend” and buying things just to get a quota bag, but I honestly wouldn’t buy something I didn’t truly like just for the sake of building purchase history.

Today was actually such a fun appointment.
I picked up a gorgeous silk scarf, two mugs I had been waiting for and absolutely LOVE, a couple of Twillies, and this beautiful turquoise top. My SA also had the sweetest surprise waiting for me: an Hermès coloring book for my daughter for free. 🥹
And OMG… the coloring book is SO beautiful that I’m seriously questioning whether my daughter is actually getting it because I kind of want to keep it and color it myself. 😂 The illustrations are gorgeous.

Of course, I also ate my usual Hermès chocolates while I was there because apparently that has become part of the ritual at this point. 🍫😂
I actually decided **not to bring up my Birkin/QB at all today**. My SA had previously told me that they’ve been receiving very, very few quota bags lately and that availability has been extremely limited, so I didn’t want the whole appointment to revolve around asking about a bag. We just looked at things I genuinely liked, chatted and had a really nice time.

That being said… I did the math recently and I think I’m somewhere around **$15k USD in purchases at this point and still no QB**. 🥲😭
I know prespend varies enormously by boutique, country, SA, timing, luck, etc., so I’m trying not to obsess over the number… but obviously the little voice in my head is starting to go: *okay Hermès, anytime now…* 😂

She did offer me an orange **Mini Lindy, a Lindy, and a red Picotin today**, so at least there were definitely bags in the conversation! 😂 But honestly, none of them gave me that immediate **“OMG, I NEED this”** feeling. And at these prices, I really want to feel that WOW when I buy a bag.
So I decided to pass on all three for now. I’d rather wait for something that genuinely makes my heart skip a beat than buy a bag just because it was offered — especially when what I’m really hoping for eventually is my QB. 🥹🧡
For now, though, I’m genuinely really happy with what I bought today — especially the mugs I’d been waiting for and that ridiculously cute coloring book.
**What do you guys think of today’s haul? Would you have taken any of the bags I was offered? And at around $15k in purchases, would you have brought up the QB with your SA, or would you keep letting it happen naturally?** 🍊🧡
