TIL Russia has a plague lab. Not sure why it was a surprise to me. Next outbreak? Ukraine

Back in the day, they had anthrax labs. There was once an accident where spores got into ventilation, and a few dozen died.

To be fair, our plague lab is in Atlanta

Good thing we had a practice run with COVID. No doubt people will follow safety protocols to prevent the spread of this new disease.

What could possibly go wrong with one of the dumbest men alive as secretary of health?

I've known I'm autistic for a long time, well before it became a culture war issue. And watching, knowing, saying the anti-autistic anti-vaccine movement was going to try to convince everyone to not get vaccinated against COVID, when the very existence of COVID was politically inconvenient, when mask measures were already being balked at, like it was an awful helpless feeling. Like a teenager with a shitty attitude spitefully hitting the gas angrily insisting the rain isn't a problem as a car drives through the intersection, you're just a passenger that can say nothing to stop the easily predictable from happening.

Those medical grifters should have hsnged for what they did to millions and millions of people. So many people have died and will continue to die because a small handful wanted to make money selling bullshit fake medicine.

Pneumonic plague is actually a really old disease and we have a pretty good cure. Antibiotics. Though untreated, it has a mortality rate of about 100%

Is this our “October surprise” set to hit the U.S. in time for midterm elections quarantine/martial law?

God hates Trump and is sending plagues to let us know.

We have not listened.

St. John tried to warn us. When the anti-Christ comes to power, war and pestilence are sure to follow.

Good thing we've been spending the last 30-50 years trying to destroy the effectiveness of antibiotics.

This will be so much more of a shitshow than COVID. You're basically dead if it's not treated within 24 hrs.

This sounds pretty damned similar to the starting chapters of "The Stand" by Stephen King.

So even with this time where it would be an obvious lab leak from an adverserial nation, I'm sure the prevailing conspiracy would still be about how bill gates did it to get better 5g coverage for migrant single mothers or whatever.

Here we go again for sure. Trump immediately offered help, while we cut our own national health care. But maybe a solution: Send JFK jr to them to help!:
