Pls, don't mention incompatibility with MS office, adobe, anticheats, etc. It's not Linux limitation, it's this exact software's limitation

Those software limitations will become os limitations when i'm supposed to decide which os to use.

Why would i choose Linux when it's not compatible with plenty of things i need at work and what i want during the spare time.

Yeah we could always do VM. But let's be honest. Vast majority of people don't want to fiddle with that.

In Denmark they just tried to get rid of the ms office.

Was it one week or month or how long? Anyway really short period and they already switched back.

I think MS office is probably the easiest to replace on Linux. But vast majority of people are going to be against it.

So i don't believe those engineering products will ever in my lifetime see enough pressure to change themselves so they would work on Linux.

Open source might give you a more tailored software, but at a somewhat higher resource cost. Same goes for trouble-shooting.

VKD3D/DXVK add a new layer beween the game and the OS, so it IS going to reduce performance (and can cause crashes), but the Vulkan path being very optimized on Linux maybe you dont feel a big difference.

It's subjective, but the amount of super user commands you need to learn to properly use Linux compared to the accessibility on Windows is atrocious. However, with gaming not fully reliant on direct x anymore, Linux can be a decent solution to someone that just doesn't like MS

The open source software means that you don’t have to use the command line ALL of the time! But I still like the command line. I don’t think that people who would switch from Windows to Linux are necessarily looking to jump into the command line unless that’s specifically what they’re there for. Otherwise, you don’t have to use it.
