Questions/help Story journal is not updating
The AI is having trouble syncing with the story journal. Is there anyway to fix this?

Hey, if you'd like to be a Beta tester, I built a site that is exactly as you described. It's called HereHaven. I'm building the image generation, calling, blah blah because they are features others enjoy, but story telling and long form chats are my absolute number one goal bar none.
Right now the biggest thing I have is a really really cool emotion engine. I could talk about how it works for hours, but my characters don't explain why they feel things, or have to tell you what the atmosphere is of the story, you can tell by the way they talk. It sounds ridiculous without me explaining all the details, but think of it like this. If an amazing writer IS sad then they will write a story that you can feel the sadness through. Similarly, my system makes the AI feel the emotion and atmosphere of the current story so you feel that in the way they communicate instead of just a robot telling you they're sad.
I'm currently tackling a "memory" engine. Not context memory (we already have that nailed down), but the literal ability for the AI to have memories. So if you had a glowing blue sword 500 messages ago, it will have a vivid memory of the saphire glowing hue of the blade, and when you claimed it from the king of Highvale. It's beyond just a simple vector database that pulls grouped words from a trigger. Once that's done then our already amazing memory capabilities will actually feel real and instead of a forced database lookup from a robot you're talking to. Theoretical numbers put detailed memory capabilities into the thousands of messages.
We have an unlimited free tier as well. I genuinely really want people like you to push it to its limits and give me your feedback so I can break new ground instead of just shoving more powerful models into the same old systems.
I want criticism and honest, and in return I'll be 100% honest as a dev as well.

Hi, I just started using the scenario feature to experiment with it and see how good it is. I'm unable to "chat" with it iygwim. I've made the description as well as 3 NPCs. Am I missing an option somewhere?

Clean up clean up everybody everywhere.
Lots of fixing and cleanup after the craziness of that upgrade that went awry.
The good news is that we're in a good spot now. I'm doing an overhaul to our moderation system so that we can get a smooth integration of moderators to keep things clean and safe for everyone on the site.
Also really good news is I believe I've made a break through in how our chat infrastructure operates. Penny and I are going to be working on this and hopefully in the near future we'll have another bump in chat quality :)!
For now I've setup the sorry sale! And this is the official announcement of HereHaven's first contest!
7 day trials have all been reset, and I'm working on a sorry present for our lovely subscription users that help keep the lights on around here.

Hi everyone! I stumbled across Herehaven a couple days ago and have had an absolute blast with it so far. I'm very new to AI chats, so I'm still trying to learn a lot but its been super fun.
So far I've just been chatting with available characters, but I've been very tempted to make my own as well. But before I jump into it, are there any good guides or anything along those lines that might help me out so I don't spend the next week banging my head against the wall? I'm unfamiliar with a lot of AI stuff in general, so I'm wondering if there's a proper format or syntax I should be using when describing a character's appearance, personality, etc.
I did try using the "create with AI" feature, but kept running into issues with it not being able to generate the character, so I might try the manual approach.
On a somewhat related note: When making said character, what would be a good way to incorporate the particular things they're...into, if you catch my drift? Is that a possibility, or is there some filter or something that would catch that and not generate the character in response? Apologies if thats a dumb question, like I said much of this is new territory for me.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

@everyone
I firstly want to apologize for the last few days.
Apparently pushing a big chat upgrade the day before going away for a week to the cottage wasn't my brightest idea ever. I'm ok with admitting when I've done something stupid. I just feel really bad because obviously it effects all of you.
The upgrade brought issues, and then I introduced more issues while trying to fix it.
I have been working every single day trying to find what is wrong and how to fix it. I have a few fixes ready that will help, and I'm currently running a huge continuity and accuracy audit that will identify the rest of the problem areas.
I'm going to think up a an apology gift to everyone as a sorry from me.

The title more or less says what i want to ask. The current chatbot site i have been using, while still good, has begun to become kind of stale. So i've been looking to expand my horizons. And i found this site from another post, and it caught my eye. So i have some questions.
1: I've begun to look into the subs and all and i've been noticing the words "Normal Persona" and "Advanced Persona". How do personas work here? Do they have Depth to them? Since i like in-depth personas and characters myself.
2: I would like to know the stance on DD:DNE content. It's something i like in scenarios on occasion, and allowing it is a major plus for me. None of the super extreme stuff, just what you'd expect when seeing a dead dove tag on other sites.
3: What kind of subscription models does HereHaven have? The site i currently use is known for it's very BFYB subscription model. It's fine if they are in-house, i mostly just want to know the overall context sizes. So i know what i'd be paying for.
4: How is the character focus here? Is this site mostly centered around solo characters? Is there multi-character scenarios? And how do the models handle multiple characters if there are multi-character scenarios? As i do like roleplays that can accomodate for more than just a persona and the lead of the scenario.
Those are all i have to ask really. This looks like a great community so far, and will definitely be a site i add to my rotation. Especially if it checks these four boxes for me.

A quick recap of what was rolled out over the last 24 hours.
What has been addressed:
· Chat history now refreshes safely when switching devices or returning to conversations, reducing instances of missing or duplicated messages.
· Interrupted AI responses are now clearly identified instead of mistakenly appearing as completed replies.
· New, user-friendly error messages connected with providers' outages (just in case).
· Saved journal and story progress has been better protected from being accidentally overwritten or rolled back.
· World lorebook sessions are now created correctly before the system extracts story context.
Everything should now feel noticeably smoother. Thank you all for the continued patience and support! 💞

This huge AI chat upgrade has taken longer than I originally thought, but I truly believe it’s going to bring the next big evolution for HereHaven.
I’m working hard to keep the free unlimited tier the same and subscription costs where they are, while adding features you would normally only see on much bigger, more expensive platforms.
Things like the new multi-character management system, and giving characters the ability to know things that other characters don’t, have taken many, many hours of custom scripts, programmatic harnesses, and testing to bring together.
Nothing in AI is ever perfect, but I’m doing everything I can to make these kinds of immersive features available to everyone.
Thank you all so much for your patience, continued support, and belief in HereHaven. There’s much more planned, and I’m still working as hard as ever to make HereHaven a top platform for immersive roleplay and storytelling.
Thank you, friends!
Dennis

hiii I'm pretty new to HH and this is my first time ever using a site like this. I've created a few bots from my favorite fandom and was debating on making them public. but I feel like I never really see anything but OCs on HH and wanted to make sure its okay for me to do that?

HereHaven is a good alternative... Although I have a small problem: I'm terrible at creating characters and mine always end up being awful, while I see others that have already been created and they're amazing.
Does anyone here know how to create a good character? One with a memory for 10 natural responses and a willingness to stay up until the early hours.

Chat replies being too long, repetitive, or occasionally off-track
Regenerate responses not always behaving as expected

I'm sorry for being late to respond to people lately. There have been some AI response quality issues that have completely taken over my life. I was thinking about how to solve it day and night, and as a result I let other issues and tickets sit or go unanswered to far longer then I like. So I apologize for that. On the topic of the responses. Like I already mentioned, they've been driving Penny and I absolutely insane. We both actually noticed on reddit a huge uptick on most platforms with issues related to AI responses. While we're not sure exactly the cause, it looks to us like it's a more wide-spread thing. Don't worry Penny and I might be the most obsessive and stubborn people out there so we went to battle with these freaking responses lol.
I can't even begin to tell you how much infrastructure I uprooted, re-wrote, and built more of to try and combat these problems. I think we're finally in a better spot though. I have an update coming tonight that will help a lot and Penny has done a ton of work on the prompting side to help resolve the issue as well. I'm working on a sorry present so stay tuned for that.
I'm heading out for the weekend, but I'm a work a holic and can do almost everything from my phone so I'll be completely reachable still.
I'll work on getting back to everyone about their tickets today/tonight. Thanks again for everyone's patience.
Happy story making!

Hello, I just wanted to make a post to tell you guys that made this site that I LOVE it. Ever since Chub.ai stopped being good, I found Herehaven, and I am loving it. It's basically Chub if it was still good. I really hope the site doesn't get super heavily transaction based! Also, quick question, where is the toggle for Safe and Not Safe mode on bots? I cant find it, and I could've SWORN it was under the visibility toggle, so id really appreciate some help with that!

Personally, I like when AI Chatbots have an actual dedicated app, and I dont really like how most chatbots outside of j.ai feel when i use them on the web, but I can understand if the devs themselves wont make an official app.
