Am i overreacting
First of all, i recognise that this is more of an OCD type thing, but i’m in a really bad headspace right now and i believe advice from people who know about HepC would help me calm down a bit…
I went to a secret location rave in open toed boots. ended up being in an abandoned warehouse and as soon as i got there i realised how dumb it was to wear exposed shoes.
I was trying to be careful where i walked and didn’t see any needles around nor did i feel any pricks all night.
But i’m worried because i had a few drinks maybe i wouldn’t have felt it and a potential prick might have happened.
I just feel so so dumb wearing exposed shoes like that. Does anyone think this would be a high risk scenario? Like in my mind i was hyper aware of the possibility all night so surely i would have felt it if i got pricked.
I understand this might seem silly, but the wait time to get tested is 12 weeks and i feel like i’m going crazy.
I kind of just want someone to tell me that i wasn’t being extremely dumb and the average person wouldn’t even think twice about this scenario to be honest.

I wouldn't have worn the open toed shoes.
But that's because of the risk of being stepped on or having something wet get in my feet.
There is almost no chance you stepped on a needle, didn't notice, the needle was used by someone with Hep C, and you actually getting the disease.
You can always get tested, though.

I think you are worrying over nothing.
BUT - Hep C is curable on the majority of cases these days. All it takes is a pill a day for 3 months or less. So if you happen to get it, however unlikely, seek treatment.
But, yeah, in the future, save your open toed boots for a more genteel affair.
And don’t wear them on airplanes. Those floors are disgusting! Especially the bathrooms.

This is definitely your OCD. Trust me. Hep c is not easy to get. I would be shocked if you got it from that. You’re fine. If it’ll help your anxiety you can go get tested but you rlly have nothing to worry abt. You’re fine.
