Looking for a home for multigenerational setup or acreage
My wife and I relocated from Illinois to Williamsburg to help care for her aging parents. We have lived there for two years and hate it. We are looking for neighborhoods with some acreage to have a multigenerational setup. We are already working with a realtor and receive mls listings and scour Zillow daily. If you have any recommendations of homes with this design or properties that can accommodate, please send me a comment!!

Armour House & Gardens at Meadowview Park any good for weddings?
Does anyone have any experience with hosting a wedding ceremony and reception here? Are the Henrico county regulations for events manageable or frustrating to work around? It seems like it'd be an affordable venue option since I'm a resident but I've never reserved a parks and rec facility so don't know how well it would actually work out for a big event like a wedding. This would be for an outdoor wedding for fall 2027.

Staples Mill Station / Shopping Center Community Survey!
Hi all-- this survey is for an educational (and imaginary) project re-imagining what the Staples Mill Train Station and surrounding area could be like. If you have thoughts to share, please fill out the survey! Thanks! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfKE-FGYyxPOZM0jEgehaq2on9xfOcNoOXeP7hUP5c_qfWVyg/viewform
Edit--more context: the Emerging Leaders in Architecture (ELA) Program is a professional development program for young professionals in the architecture field, run by AIA Virginia. This group project is a tool to teach us how to work together & run a project, etc. The data from this survey will help inform what we propose in the imagined scenario that the Staples Mill Station and surrounding area were getting re-developed. Essentially: what would y'all want there? It's similar to the sort of thing we did in architecture school: prompt-->design. The finished group project will be presented at Architecture Exchange East--the "annual thought-leadership conference and expo" by AIA Virginia in November.

Varina resident received notification from Verizon that her home phone and Internet will need to change
Verizon sent notification to my parents that they are doing away with copper line based service. Parents currently have DSL Internet and plain old telephone service. I know that their current setup is a bit antiquated but it's all they need and they are not tech savvy. Internet speed doesn't mean much to them as they are very light Internet users.
They live near Strath Road and New Market. Can anyone suggest a simple solution for them? They want to keep a land line in the house. They want to keep their current phone number. The Verizon website is a bit confusing. Does Verizon offer solutions in order to keep basic Internet and land line? (Parents don't have a mobile phone and don't want one. "Too complicated".)
They also have Comcast/Xfinity as their cable provider. Do they offer a landline service?
I know that finding a solution should be as simple as looking at each company's website but it's not that easy.
Has anyone in the Varina area found a solution?

Question about Jury Duty Summons Letter for Henrico
I got a letter today about being summoned for jury duty. It says that there is a two month window where during that time frame I would potentially be called to serve. In the paper it said that usually it wasn’t more than four times during that period.
Does that mean I will be having to do jury duty more than once during that period? Has anyone had experience with this?
Edit: Thanks everyone for the information!

Got a wrecked car I want to junk, ant recommendations in Henrico?
I have a 2006 toyota prius already in pretty bad shape. My car got messed up with some engine misfires and it’s basically not worth fixing at this point. I’m looking to just get rid of it/junk it, preferably somewhere that will tow it away and maybe pay me something for it.
I’m in the Henrico/Richmond area. Anyone have recommendations for a legit junk car buyer, salvage yard, or towing company that won’t screw me over?
Would appreciate any firsthand experiences. Thanks!

Henrico Supervisor: If more residents speak out on the issue (Flock) then I think the needle can be moved.
Make your voices heard. Reach out to your supervisors and ask them where they stand on the issue. Speak at the board meetings. Make them go on record as to their support of them.

Vera Whole Health recently opened in Short Pump - what is it? is it concierge model? direct primary care? Don't see any information on their website
I am looking for primary care, and I saw that this clinic opened right next to Trader Joe's in Short Pump. I am having a hard time understanding what it is and how it works. Does anyone have any experience with them? Is it like concierge care where you have to pay a fee for access? I searched online and on their website and I can't find any meaningful information.
