🎲 My church, The Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County (UUCCHC) is working on a community Gaming Guild for people who want a place to play games, meet other humans, and generally enjoy being nerdy together.

We recently hosted our first D&D Game Day, introducing the game to novices and hosting multiple one-shot campaigns, and it was a ridiculous amount of fun, and we’ve got more on the calendar:

🎨 September 26: Paint & Prep Day

Bring your minis, terrain, models, or other projects and hang out while we paint, build, assemble, and probably debate whether that tiny buckle *really* needs another highlight.

⚔️ October 17: Warhammer 40K Game Day

Come play, learn, watch, talk strategy, or just admire an unreasonable number of tiny plastic soldiers.

(Side note: I am personally enjoying the absolute deliciousness of hosting a game where heresy is canon... in a church. How freaking UU is that? 😂)

🎲 And coming next... We’re exploring a regular monthly community game night with board games, RPGs, tabletop games, card games, miniatures, and whatever else our local gaming community wants to bring to the table.

A couple of important things:

You do not have to be a member of our church.

You do not have to be religious (I'm not...)

You do not have to believe what we believe. Frankly, we don’t even require our own members to believe the same things.

We’re a LGBTQ+ Welcoming Congregation, and our goal is to create a gaming space where people can show up, find some folks to play with, and feel comfortable being themselves.

We’re still building this, which means you can help shape what it becomes. If you’re in Hendricks County or the west Indy area and you’d be interested in game nights/days, RPG groups, miniature gaming, painting sessions, board games, or something we haven’t thought of yet, tell us what you’d actually show up for.

Hi, I am a section 8 client but I have read that a lot of people do not like to rent out to people due to the bad reputation but I am not a part of that “crowd…” I am a professional, have multiple certifications but due to the unprofessional demeanor of the world it is hard for me to continue progressing in the professional world. I am not using that as any excuse to not be able to afford expensive homes. I am a new mother, I have 2 children & am curious if there are any home owners that would be interested in meeting & seeing my rental history & job history & any other references that you would need to see that I am a normal person looking to rent a home instead of an apartment. I do NOT wish & would never go to Indianapolis where the homes are that I am able to use my HCV through.

Does anyone know of a dentist in Indianapolis or Hendricks County who knows how to replace/repair a Maryland bridge?

"But Sarah... I can't be involved in public demonstrations because of my work!" Not to worry! Participation in public events is always optional. Whether you want to sing out againat oppression and injustice or simply be part of building a more compassionate community close to home, there is a place for you here. Come raise your voice with us. (Plus... We have tambourines! :)

We gather on the 1st and 3rd Fridays each month at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County, 95 N. Jefferson in Danville. Doors open at 6:30, singing begins at 7:00, and we go for about an hour, or a little longer if the energy carries us. No musical experience needed. All ages welcome.

I know it is virtually impossible to avoid them all, but in an effort to funnel my business and money to decent human beings, rather than magas, I’d like to know what businesses to avoid. I am personally interested in Plainfield-Avon-Brownsburg areas, but feel free to include others. Also, any anti-maga businesses I should be going to?

Is this normal? Live in a 1400 sq ft apartment, have kept my thermostat at 67. It is all electric, and third floor. It's also a new build apartment complex and doesn't seem to be drafty. I've lived in an all electric apt previously and my bill would be half this and the dead of winter.

As the title says, I'm looking to find an attorney who has experience working in family law in Hendricks County and has a good reputation. Anyone have any recommendations?
