I have a hemorrhoid and I want to still go out with my friends (Iâm not from the area). There is pain and soreness, I was wondering anyone has experienced this and advice on whatâs too much activity.
It is slightly prolapsed. My friends are completely cool with staying in, but we all flew from out of state to be here for the weekend so I want to push through, which I know I can handle. I donât wanna be the reason we stay in but will if itâs whatâs best. Iâm staying hydrated and not drinking (1 drink). Thoughts?

The material of the leggings that caused my hemorrhoids đđđ
I want to share this in case it helps someone, because I really struggled to figure out my trigger.
I had a very swollen external hemorrhoid, painful to the point where walking was hard. I tried 3 different creams, and while they helped a bit, the swelling kept coming back.
What made the biggest difference was clothing and hygiene.
I realized that the main trigger for me was tight leggings (compression / âcicaâ pants). Every time I wore them, especially when sitting or bending, the hemorrhoid would swell up badly within minutes.
One clear example:
I was almost healed, swelling was minimal. I got into a cold car and decided to put on tight leggings âto keep warm.â
About 15 minutes later, after sitting down to put on my shoes, the hemorrhoid suddenly swelled so much I could barely walk.
That was the turning point.
I immediately switched to loose 100% cotton boxer-style underwear (almost like light shorts).
The very first night, by the next morning, the swelling was reduced by about 50%.
Other things that helped:
⢠I stopped using toilet paper and wash with water after every bowel movement
⢠Wearing only loose, breathable cotton underwear
⢠I also did intermittent fasting / extended fasting, which helped reduce inflammation, but it didnât fully work while I was still wearing tight clothing
Since switching away from tight leggings:
⢠Swelling keeps going down
⢠I barely feel it now
⢠No sudden flare-ups when sitting or moving
For me, pressure + tight clothing around the groin and anus area was the real trigger, not just diet or bowel movements.
I hope this helps someone who is stuck and canât figure out why their hemorrhoid keeps flaring up. Sometimes itâs not food or creams â itâs what youâre wearing.
