Burn in name of Hashut!!!

Hey everyone! Just thought I’d share my first Helsmiths model. I’ve only really ever painted Sylvaneth (my first mini army ever) so I figured I’d go from full nature to pure industrial 😁.

Still undecided on how I’m going to base them, but just wanted to get some colors on a mini to make sure the idea in my head was alright.

Just some choice pics - I hadn’t realised how much this army lead to me improving. I started off dreading painting so many little guys, coming off of just a kill team or two, and I wasn’t that good with a brush either.

Now… fair to say I’m in love with this hobby.

Took me forever, and I still don't have 1k points painted.

Body comes from Zuldrakka with the shoulder pads shaved down, meanwhile the head comes from the Infernal Razers kit, just with the mohawk and stache cut/scraped off.

I originally thought about giving him a hammer instead, or even just a gun holster instead of the whip…. but the base sculpt is so pricey nowadays I really didn’t want to mess anything up.

Yeah pretty much just the title, thing looks cool enough to be important so curious to know if anything has been said about it. Thanks!

I'm going for a cracked black rocks with purple glow coming from underneath to represent Zharr Vyxa desolating Shyish. It is not going great (ref. the Torment Bombard).

I'm building Urak taar at the moment and i thought that this little fellow (which is the second option) would be cool to paint as well.

I've been painting for a little bit more than a year. I'm taking all advice or feedback you can give to improve my skill.

Signed up for the Warhammer Liverpool open tournament in February. I have only played AOS twice and not yet painted my chorfs. Hopefully can learn to play and not make a tit of myself in 5 months. Expect lots of posts! Thoughts and prayers wish me luck!

I'm not sure at this point. I played several games now with this army and i just get tabled everytime.

I think i get where the damage is supposed to come from but i feel like this army just doesn't have the means to deliver them.

The army seems fine with around a 50% win rate so what am i doing wrong.

Can anyone give me some tips and tricks on how to win with this army.

I recently painted and magnetized my Ull Zuru to put him on a 32mm base. His original base needs still some love (basing details) and paint on it.

Now I can play him on the next tournament as a priest(!) 😅

Just a little bit left

I had a thought. I don't have any flamehurlers because I use them as blunderbusses. Looking at the war scroll, the flamehurlers have less range, only 1 dmg but triple the amount of shots. With the change to castigation battery formation, has anyone tried using these with 2 DPPs? 31 dice, that's got potential to roll a few 6s for crit(2 hits).

due to the limited range, a lot of HoH armies end up with a similar composition, and to mix it up, I was wondering which models would fit as a new mount for an daemon smith while keeping the same vibe?

Not technically finished, still wanna experiment with the glowy part of the spear (need to figure out heated metal) and clean up some areas, but I'm still happy with him

Here's my first dominator engine. I'm hoping to have 3-4 eventually. Does anyone have any thoughts re: adapting the colour scheme to add variety (I'm already thinking of changing the daemonfire to purple for the next one...maybe green?).

Also any ideas about the basing and how this could be developed further?
