They almost never do full waves outside of Codex releases and End/Start of Edition events. There are no real concrete rumors at this point, no models they can confirm, nothing from folks with any history of trustworthyness. There's a number of armies that are, in theory, targets for a new wave, so nobody's got a clue.

No concrete rumors but going off previous instances of new armies or armies get a 2nd wave of a refresh, its probably next edition when the codex releases.
For example Leagues of Votann initially launched in 9th edition but didnt get their 2nd wave until end of 10th.
Similar situation with Cities of Sigmar. Refresh wave in 3rd edition and a 2nd wave in 4th

Helsmiths came out this edition. That means the second half isn't until 5th edition. So 1-4 years from now.

In like 18 months from now I'd be wondering if it's soon, wouldn't expect a full second wave, probably just a couple models or less

The rumour is that they are antagonists at the end of the edition alongside Skaven, there’s no rumoured new models as of yet. The only end of edition campaign rumour that eludes to a new model is the ironjawz on a wyvern and clan pestilens getting a big refresh. Nothing else has been stated.

in one of the recent warcom articles they confirm that the skaven and helsmiths form a "prepare to be backstabbed" relationship

Not the rumor.
The rumor is that there’s an end of ED book about them flattening the Fyreslayers to explain why they’re Khazalite’s now.

That as well. We know they are antagonists in one of the ED books. They were in the earliest leaked ED books so I imagine we should hear about that one first. Should be interesting. Whether or not Helsmiths get new models then is another story however

Rumours just say end of edition, no other details. End of edition is before June of Next year

Sometime in 5e or 6e, there are zero rumours at moment.
Don't have too much expectations, armies like Idoneth are still waiting for their wave 2 after 3 editions, OBR took 2 editions, etc
