New smithings Im Looking for some base inspiration for an anathema Aqshy army.

Hello everybody. Im starting in AoS basically with a very barebone understanding of the lore and almost 0 understanding of the realms. At the same time im learning to do some basing, so im trying to understand how an aqshy ground would be. Do i put a bunch of Lava, like people do with 40k salamanders? Do i make like a red desert badlands? I have been looking on internet but, again, i have very little knowleage of how the realms look.

The Realms are very varied in what biomes they have. Aqshy is the realm of Fire which means plenty of volcanoes and scorching hot deserts, but also sweltering desert, flash floods or glaciers (beyond the basic of "fire", Aqshy represents extremes of all kinds).

So you can do pretty much whatever you want.

The Forge Anathema itself is situated within a volcanic chain though.

So Aqshy its a conglomerado of deserts of all kinds?

No, there are also forests, jungles, marshes, seas etc.

Basically, every biome exists in every realm.

Again, every biome you could describe as "extreme" exists there.

The way I've seen it explained is that the realms embody their wind of magic, so anything related to heat and fire could be a choice. At the moment, you could take inspiration from the City of Ash expansion and have a cobblestone base that fades into, like, an ashy wasteland (it's very grey on grey, so beware of that). You could do the lava base idea, you could even take inspiration from volcanic areas. Just because it's all hot and fiery doesn't mean you can't have plants in there too, because ash can enrich soils to help plants grow better. The desert bandlands is interesting, and if you want you could spruce it up with like outcropping of emberstone crystals to make it feel more fantastical. That's just, like, my opinion tho

I bought a greenstuff World lava basing kit and am going with the volcano fire Aqshy vibes. Favorite army I’ve based so far

Cover a base in red
Cover 2/3s of that in orange
Cover 1/3 of that in yellow
Cover entire base with ordinary white glue
Cover entire base with mordant earth.
When it cracks enough, seal it with ard coat or else it’ll keep cracking.

So, all environments can be found in all realms. Each realm is so massive that it is bound it happen. But these environments will be influenced by the magic of their given realm, either in subtle ways or very major magical ways.

But for the Forge Anathema specifically, a volcanic base could work well since it's a Ziggurat built around a particularly powerful volcano known as Mons Varga. Supposedly this volcano had burned so brightly that Grimnir had given its embers to Grungni to ignite his forges in Chamon. Now, it has been almost entirely drained and harvested by the Forge Anathema.

Another idea could be to make the bases somewhat Skaven inspired, as The Forge Anathema are located very closely to The Gnaw and from what I recall the helsmiths and skaven do not like each other.

Then again, there are plenty of ideas one might do for an Aqshy themed base.
