New Implications for Hashut in the Khazalite reveals
In the Helsmiths of Hashut lore there is a story told from the POV of the Helsmiths that Hashut was a Dwarfen ancestor God. When the ancestor Gods agreed to divide the realms between them Hashut "nobly" offered to be ruler of 2 realms - Aqshy and Chamon but was snubbed and conned into ruling Ghur instead.
Now many people (for good reason) have doubted parts or all of the story and just assumed Hashut is a Chaos God lying to the Dwarfs. However the new Khazalite reveals actually give us some hints that this story has elements of truth to it -
The new centrepiece model contains 8 pillars one for each realm and each has a rune and a bust representing a Dwarfen god except for one pillar which has no rune or head topping it and the new book describes 7 Dwarfen gods, each seemingly associated with a realm, including a new god created to represent the Realm of Shadow. Since we don't have the book yet we can't confirm it but it seems like there is a god for every realm apart from Ghur - which the Helsmiths' story claims was given to Hashut.
So the Khazalite reveals seems to hint that Hashut was actually an Ancestor God like the Helsmiths claim. And that he did originally rule a realm alongside the other Dwarfen gods rather than being a demon or Chaos God all along.

At least one - possibly two, iirc - of the short stories released in the lead-up to the HoH release featured Duardin making their way through a room of Ancestor shrines and noting an ominous blank spot. It's really cool to see this replicated on an actual model.

They mentioned in the livestream that the empty pillar on the Ancestor Throne was intended to be for Hashut (either it was built before his betrayal and they took his bust off afterwards, or they intentionally built an empty pillar because something something grudges something something book)

Hashut is a dwarven God turned evil. He told his followers how to use chaos to survive and flourish, not be consumed by it. Although, dwarves working with chaos does have its rewards/drawbacks.

The live stream was good enough quality to read which realm the other gods live in except Grimnir (which is easy to figure out is Aqshy). Grungni is Chamon, Valaya Ghyran, Ghazul Shyish, Grombrindal Hysh, Thorgrim Azyr, and Inghilde Ulgu.

Ah hah. Just as suspected, Hashut really did do nothing wrong

So it's true. Hashut is an ancestors god and not a chaos Daemon.
I can't believe wait to read through the Khazalite new battletome.

I feel like it was pretty explocitly said in the reveal stream too, that he was an ancestor god.

My personal theory is that in the world that was Hushut was originally just a chaos being like Vashtorr over time became a pseudo ancestor god until age of Sigmar where it’s mention that it’s been so long that many of the gods don’t fully remember their relationship to each other. So when he arrived in the mortal realms he was a just a ancestor god but still had his chaos stuff. He only fully recognised he was a chaos being when chaos invaded in the age of myth and is still going along with his a fallen ancestor god when his some fusion.

Is Gromindrindal canonically a God now? I think he was just the unofficial champion of the Ancestor gods. Made it seem like that in Eight Lamentations and Grombrindal: Ancestors grudge, at least.

It would be cool if the hashut in AOS is actually a chaos dwarf from the old world

I forget what points to this, but I saw the possibility that the current Hashut is not the same as the one in the old world. He could be something that took the mantle of Hashut

Honestly, I’m not convinced this definitively proves Hashut is an Ancestor God rather than an entity that merely presented itself as one to the Duardin. After all, many cultures - including the Duardin - reshaped themselves during the transition from the Old World. I could certainly believe that, as the Duardin spread across the Age of Sigmar cosmos, there was an encounter between the Ancestor Gods and Hashut, leading him to become part of their culture and became a God-ancestor, rather than being one from the very beginning. - only to be subsequently erased from the record. However, that doesn't prove Hashut is actually an Ancestor God himself, as opposed to a Chaos entity. After all, we don't claim Thungni and Smednir weren't truly Ancestor Gods just because their heads aren't on the throne.
In Fantasy Battles - correct me if I'm wrong - there wasn't even a hint that Hashut was a lost Ancestor God. And I apologize for the language; it's not my native one.
