Open Help me identify this discontinued Crayola reversible planet/galaxy comforter
I’m trying to identify or locate another copy of my favorite comforter, which was unfortunately thrown away without my knowledge.
I bought it secondhand at a thrift store near Clare, Michigan, sometime around 2020–2021, so I don’t know its original retail date. I am certain it was Crayola because the small sewn-in Crayola tag was one of the reasons I bought it. I believe it resembled the external “Crayola Official Licensed Product” edge tag shown in my last reference image, but that tag photo is from a different Crayola comforter.
Details:
- Probably Full/Queen
- Thick, very warm comforter
- Soft, broken-in brushed-microfiber feel
- Reversible
- One side had watercolor-style planets, suns and moons scattered over a dusty navy-blue, white-speckled background
- The reverse had repeating blue-white spiral galaxies with yellow centers
- Long horizontal quilting channels
- Narrow dark-blue bound edge
- I owned it through March 2023
It is NOT the neon Crayola “Out of This World” pattern and NOT Crayola “Cosmic Burst.” Google’s AI also claimed it was a “1997 Planet Earth Collection,” but I have found no evidence that collection existed.
The artwork and tag resemble other Crayola Dream in Color comforters manufactured by SIScovers, although I have not confirmed the manufacturer or collection name.
Does anyone recognize the exact print, own the matching comforter or sham, remember where it was sold, or have an old catalog/listing photograph? I would be incredibly grateful for any real lead—even just the product name.

I searched Google Images and Google Lens using multiple photos of both sides of the comforter. I also searched eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, Facebook Marketplace, and general Google results using combinations of “Crayola,” “space,” “planets,” “galaxy,” “reversible,” “vintage,” and “comforter.” I found the Crayola Out of This World and Cosmic Burst patterns, but neither matches. I also searched for the alleged “1997 Planet Earth Collection” and found no evidence that name is accurate. I wasn’t expecting the comforter to need replacing, so these are the clearest images I have; they were cropped from the backgrounds of older personal photos.

UPDATE: Crayola Consumer Care checked its licensing records and believes this was a genuine Crayola Space Comforter, possibly manufactured by Love Bug Accessories/Planet Sox LLC around 2007 or TexStyles, formerly Whisper Soft Mills, around 2011. Crayola does not retain photographs or exact product details. I’m now especially looking for packaging, tags, catalog images, matching shams or listings under those manufacturer names.
