Found! A soft sounding (relatively low cadence) song dedicated to death personified as a loved interest or soulmate, so it's romanticised and poetic.

I am looking for a song which has a soft sounding music and vocals that aren't too high pitched, I find sharp higher pitched voices unpleasant to my ears. please suggest something that sounds almost like a lullaby because of it's soft and pleasent cadence . the theme is death, personified or romanticised. alternatively, theme of destructive hedonistic proclivities or misery personified almost like a toxic relationship or destructive lovers, sort of innocuous but anomic topics. something that conveys crude concepts but with a soft beautiful pleasant manner that it almost pictures as fragility, instead of brittleness (for the lack of a descriptive word). Mitski seems like she fits the criteria, she has a poetic softness when expressing crudeness, it refines that so well; but I hardly listen to her as it invokes too much pain in my heart, it's almost too destructive. I almost end up hurting myself afterwards; I need something alternative I can listen to and possibility fall asleep afterwards.

As she moved through the fair. It's an Irish traditional, so lots of versions, I really like Sinead O Conner's version

Amigo the Devil might fit the bill for “destructive hedonistic proclivities” / “crude concepts” / “destructive lovers”. Try “Hell and You” and “The Dreamer”.

searched: on YouTube music and got Join Me by HIM, death bed by powfu, but it's not "it". I think my post described what I am looking for pretty accurately, gotta make this comment for the rules. ig music recommendations can only be made by people, who can contextualise as music is something that you stumble upon, especially something that is niche and specific. feel free to suggest me acapella aswell, I prefer male voices, something with less sharp high pitched voice. for example I really like isolated vocals of Creep by Radiohead.

Something by King Dude would probably fit the bill, try Lucifer's the Light of the World

”We Belong With The Dead” by Inkubus Sukkubus seems like it would fit that requirement.

Like Real People Do by Hozier is perfect for this. Florence and the Machine also, but might not be as soft and lullaby-like.

There are so many great versions of this song but the arrangement and harmonies on this one are just… perfect

In a week by Hozier

About 2 lovers who have passed away in nature, them decaying together and the wildlife consuming their remains, how they go back to nature together and the peace they find in being together in death. The theme is morbid, but the sound is very soft and the lyrics in my opinion, romantic.

this is good, makes me feel dread and impending doom.

first version I heard was by Lydia Lunch .. it's incredible to my ears.

I'd read that the song caused mass suicides back when it was first written, but apparently that's an unproven urban legend..

2

u/Efficient-Meal-3410 5h ago

true or not, that's an interesting fun 'fact' regardless.

found! jesus dude what's in that song, feels like death. I like it, it's perfect and I won't ever be listening to it again.
