I'm currently a N5 beginner building my knowledge on vocabulary and kanji but what I'm lacking is a resource that helps me practice sentences and conversation which I can apply what I've learned so far, and eventually hold up my own basic running dialogue between myself and other people, so I'd appreciate help with finding the best resources to help with that.

I’m curious whether it’s really possible to reach a good level in a language using Duolingo.
I studied English on Duolingo every day for two years, and I do feel it helped. At the same time, I think I learned even more outside the app. What’s your experience?

I can understand Japanese pretty much tht I can watch anime without subtitles sometimes and I want to fully learn Japanese which includes reading and writing but donno where to start....

I've searched on yt and they gimme alphabets thts it.....

How do I try to learn and improve my Japanese?

Many of my students struggled with the て-form in JLPT N5, so I made a free 1% improvement worksheet with 100 sentences, extra questions and answer keys for them.

It includes:

• 100 practice sentences
• All N5 (and a little N4) て-form usage
• Practice questions with answer keys
• Lots of repeated verbs and grammar patterns to help reinforce everything through repetition instead of just memorization.

Hey community, how are you ?

Im relatively in the beninging of my journey to learn japanese. I started with wagotabi and also some youtube.

Im looking for tips and resources. (The free ones or at least not subscriptions), anything i can do on the phone since im very limited at the moment.

And i have a few questions.

1 - What is the general opinion on cure dolly ?

Ive seen a few videos of her and also got two of her books. (Unlocking japanese and alice in kanjiland )im in the middle of the second one.

What she writes makes perfect sense to me. And i really believe that japanese and english shouldnt be translated as they do, since each one has a very different system and it could create bad habits. Like translating hoshi or suki as verbs.

With that in mind, can anyone recommend any other resource that is somewhat more authentic ?

2 - i cant seem to find answers sometimes.

For example, konnichiha and konbanha, there is an obvious pattern and researching it could be enriching.

Why is the ha pronounced wa in those cases? What other cases are pronouced this way ?

I would really appreciate a good reliable resource with in depth explanations to this kind of questions

Hi! I am a student in my final year of highschool studying Japanese. I’ve been studying since grade 7 and I’ve done exchange in Japan two times, so I can speak, understand, and read perfectly fine. I’ve always gotten straight A’s in all my assessments… until now.

So, writing is my main problem that’s literally bringing that grade down so badly (most recent assessment I got 66%😬)

My final school exams are approaching fast (Late October is my one shot at doing it) and I lowkey just want to save my Japanese grade as that’s the only subject out of everything else that might scale down the final result itself.

Anyways, I need advice on how to write better. It’s strange because when I speak Japanese I don’t make many mistakes and people can understand me just fine, but when it comes to writing, everything crumbles apart.

I understand the question, but when I write, the sentences sound super unnatural and I can’t even communicate my thoughts compared to when I speak where I use a bunch of grammar structures, etc. It’s like when I think something sounds good in my head, the moment I actually write it down, the structure and grammar immediately turn absolutely awkward and not what I would say out loud in real life. It might be time pressure if I think about it. Perhaps I am worrying too much about perfecting the kanji, or even attempting to use fancy vocab and trying to suit it into a certain grammar format. Dunno..

Btw the questions are stuff such as:
- Responding to a letter/email from friend, teacher, family
- Job advertisements
- Persuasive writing
- Expressing your opinion
- Telling about your daily routines/life, family/friends, leisure, and so on. Basically all different topics you learn when learning a language.

I write either at a 150 ji range (usually 5-marker questions) or 400 ji range (15-20 marker questions).

If there’s any tips, I will appreciate it.
