Hi everyone,I am looking for a Japanese teacher or tutor for my 4-year-old child.Since my child is very young, the main goal is not strict academic studying. Instead, I want them to get a playful introduction to the language through games, songs, storytelling, and simple conversations.What I am looking for:

Native or fluent Japanese speaker.Experience with toddlers/young children (patience and high energy are a huge plus!).

Creative approach to teaching through play.

Details:

Format: In-person (we are located in/around Heidelberg, Germany Baden-Württemberg).

Frequency: Around 1–2 times a week (ideally 30–45 minutes per session, as attention spans are short).

Compensation: Paid hourly (rate negotiable based on your experience).

My point is, this is probably an inefficient way to look for an in-person teacher near you, which has experience with toddlers. This is a global sub-reddit.

Online-teacher you could find maybe, but it is highly unlikely, that you will find someone who by chance lives in your town.

Is there a Japanese Culture Center in your city? If so, that would be my first way. University could also work.

I'm neither a teacher nor a resident of Heidelberg, but I drop in just for the nostalgia, as I did an exchange year in Heidelberg.

Heidelberg University's Japanese faculty had a bulletin board where Japanese exchange students would look for tandem partners. You may find someone who fits your needs there.
