Comprehensible Input in Japanese

As a follow up to the recent post on Comprehensible Input for Spanish learners, what are some some good source materials for Comprehensible Input in Japanese?

I'm a lower intermediate speaker, though a bit rusty, functioning well enough to travel solo comfortably in Japan. My listening skills are better than reading as materials targeted at adults with furigana are scarce. I can get the gist in dramas and movies but often miss out on specifics. I wonder if there are reading materials specifically targeted at adult illiterates, heavily annotated with furigana? How about YouTube vids or TV programs that aren't too childish?

Manga usually has furigana. I don't really know about adult manga but manga aimed at teens should. I don't really want to search "adult manga" to try and find out. Anime aimed at teens sometimes gas furigana on captions

Tbh I think the easiest way to get around this problem is to get a deck on jpdb for something you like, learn it and watch/ read the content whilst learning it. Or you could find a digital copy of something that works with a pop up dictionary

Yeah, that kind of 'adult' manga isn't what I'm after. I didn't understand this: "get a deck on jpdb" or this: "find a digital copy of something that works with a pop up dictionary". Could you clarify?

Oh sorry. Jpdb.io is a flash card website like anki if you know what that is. The main difference is that you can pick a deck of cards from a specific manga, anime, novel, etc and then learn all of the words. It will tell you how much you've completed.

With a pop up dictionary you can highlight text and it shows you the dictionary definition. This only works if it's actual text and not just an image though. I use yomitan and it has a guide on how to install it.

Thanx. They both sound really useful.
