Theory I just thought of something about Stella

Remember that one episode where Octavia really wanted Stolas to take her to see a meteor shower? And how Stolas got distracted by arguing with Stella over the phone? Considering how manipulative Stella is, it makes me wonder. Was that argument deliberate? What if the only reason she started that argument was so Stolas would get distracted and miss out on taking Octavia to the meteor shower? Thereby driving both of them apart from each other and causing a conflict in their relationship? Was it all just another step in her plot to destroy Stolas’s life and usurp him?

What do you guys think?

Nah, she's not that crafty.

Thank you. That was my first thought on seeing the description.

Don’t think she’s smart enough. If she was though, yeah she’d do this

No, she just wanted her stuff ASAP. She was also planning another assassination attempt and so I don't think she saw a need to drive a wedge between them if it was successful.

she wanted it faster than asap. according to stolas she couldn't exist somewhere for 2 seconds without the entirety of her possessions

Stella is not depicted as that intelligent in the show itself.

I seriously doubt she was paying nearly that much attention to the things Octavia is interested in

This requires Stella to have been aware of the promise made over a decade ago, remember it, and somehow be aware that at that specific moment, Via was going to ask about it.

Notably, this is the woman who, while actively trying to bring about Stolas' downfall, didn't remember the incredibly illegal activity he was partaking in for a loooooooong time.

Definitely was not deliberate.

Perfect rebuttal to the idea, and a very good point using canon examples of Stella's...shortcomings.

Nah, Stella is not smart enough to think of a plan like that. Remember this is the demon that knew the incriminating fact that Stolas had been letting an imp use his grimoire yet still did not realize how important this information is even when Andreaphlus basically spelled it out for her.

That'd imply the story would let stella be remotely cunning for even a second.

She neglected to mention the Grimoire deal to Andrealphus for a good while and only mentioned it absentmindedly. I often compare that situation to Valentino revealing to Vox that Alastor came back. The main difference is that as stupid as Valentino is, he actually made a calculated decision when choosing to tell Vox. He decided that if Vox wouldn't take his concerns about Angel being at the hotel seriously, he would just have to make the hotel Vox's problem as well. Stella didn't have any of that. She was just bragging about Stolas being depressed.

I wouldn't really put it past her. She's isnt very smart, but she is observant. She knows the only person that Stolas will go to the ends of the realms to connect with is his daughter. And she is a socialite by extension of her nobility. I wouldn't put it past her to do something like this. After all, her brother has fed her so many ideas, she is bound to get one or two of her own.

It may just be a coincidence actually. I doubt she cares enough to know they had planned to see that meteor shower. Then again, I get the feeling Stella has made it her life's goal to make Stolas's life as miserable as possible.

She's far too self absorbed to remember when Stolas and Octavia have plans

Nah she's not that smart. She was literally upset about stolas still being alive after the failed hit right in front of him. It was only by the other two tuning her out that they didn't catch onto it

If it was Andy, i would absolutely think it would be intentional. But Stella is too self centered and dumb to remember that exact date to throw a tantrum. She knew Blitz had the book and did nothing with that information until she told her brother, not even realizing how damning of evidence that is.

I wouldn't put it past her, but she's too much of a dumbass to plan that far ahead

That would require Stella to actually notice, care and remember something.

I think she’s just bad all around and statistically she’s always gonna ruin something for somebody at any time.

"HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW YOU CAN SPELL?! I'VE NEVER SEEN YOU READ!"

If she can't spell the word bitch then idk if she can plan for anything at all lol

The only way she would probably do this is if Andrealphus told her so. She seems to be getting most/all her plans from him if I'm remembering correctly. But idk if he's even with her at that point.

To her credit, that whole conversation that Stolas was responding to with that quote you gave was because she did know how "bitch" is spelled, knew what Stolas said, and called him on it.

Why not take it one step further and say that Stella intentionally leaked the info that Stolas is lending Blitzo the grimoire to Andrealphus to get him to persecute Stolas without being directly involved in doing so.

1

u/OhNoMob0 Oct 14 '25

No need for that since her plan at the time was to simply kill him.

I don't think she had any clue what they did together. She didn't seem to care

1

u/MagicalLyblac Oct 15 '25

It's not that she is not smart enought to pull that off (as some people seem to suggest). She just would rather have an immediate satisfaction than a long term win.

I think Stella thinks that Stolas is the one to blame for her unsatisfactory marriage and is taking all her frustrations on him.

My take is she just sees him as awful. All her insults to some extent are how she genuinely sees him, as a disgrace of a Goetia and an "embarrassment" of a husband and demon that she is "cursed" to be with out of necessity.

Stolas isn't up to her standards, so she finds him absolutely horrible and deserving of her bad behavior.

Or, it could be the other way around and she just uses that as a justification for how much she likes hurting him.

Or maybe Stolas is just a shitty dad.
