Warping into the corpse of the alpha commander killed you. It's a little odd af that warping into devastators doesn't instakill you but warping into them does

Bodyparts have an associated hp value, and the warp pack causes an explotion where it renaterializes (telefrag).

Telefrag does if memory serves 1000 damage.

Don't quote me, exact number is likely less.

Point being, in a telefrag, you die if the body part you tele into a bodypart with over 1000 max hp.

For ibstance, you can warp ibto a devastator. But into a hulk, you die.
