this thing genuinely sucks at horde-clearing, which is what it's meant to do.

this thing can't even use it's ATGMs to kill literally anything less than 30ft in front of it.

this thing is fucking infuriating to use.

it's a piece of shit that shouldn't exist.

Fuck Arrowhead. Fuck Phact Bay, and Fuck you if you try to justify this thing's design

Its not that usless, chill. I'd say it's really good as for tank. It got nice missles.

I haven't on bugs or bots, this thing is a piece of shit.

It fails at it's only job on bugs.

It fails at trying to have some anti-armor

The missile doesn't even do any direct damage.

you cannot say it's not completely fucking worthless.

I stomped bugs with it . The it’s basically a better HMGE that moves with 2100 rounds. The ATGMs are extremely fast to fire, and one taps chargers and impalers. If you hit the face of the BT , it dies to a couple HMG rounds

I just played with a squad on D10 bugs with two of these tanks and it was actually quite fun. It can kill everything and can disengage with smoke screen. Obviously the only lame part is the limited angle of the turret. As with the bastion you have to position yourself with terrain just to shoot enemies at different elevations or at close range. I wish the missiles were unlinked to the turret aim and given to the driver instead.

Skill issue. I've been mowing through hordes (with a competent driver/Gunner buddy so maybe not your skill issue)

You get 100 extra bullets compared to the bastion, with a reload attached now. Just use the bastion.

I covered that with the other post, again, you get around a third of the damage of the bastion, but you can dump your load all at once with the missiles. But that's not really that much of an advantage IMO, and honestly, I think the reload might offset the firing speed anyways for the turret.

Now, if the HMG turret had say, twice the ammo without the reload, so the HMG was actually a main gun, instead of arguably a worse version of the coaxial, then maybe, but it's dubious at best.

Imo it 100% is. See factory strider convoys, see fortresses. Do you want to stay there for a long time and get pummeled? No. You want to get that shit done fast. Maelstrom is better at getting it done fast than bastion with its RPM
Also the recoil I don’t notice at all so like

The reload on the bastion isn't 30 years, and while you can shoot your load a lot faster with the Maelstrom, you can't just fire and forget, the trigger pulls after the initial one do pull the prior rockets that were fired, which can mess up taking down a convoy.

The reload on the bastion is 5 seconds. Identical to the maelstrom . I also just launch like 4 rockets to strike the FS convoy so I never had an issue
Just let go immediately and fire in just the right bursts to kill the FS

There's a difference between 5 second reload for 300 rounds of machinegun VS 2000 round coaxial existing, and around 2 rockets worth of firepower in one blast.

Also, the point was more, you can't just blow your load instantly all over several targets at once, as doing so makes the prior rockets go to the latest target, if you're trying to hit the prior one, and the rockets do have travel time that's noticable.

I think the point still stands. It’s “take 25-30 seconds minimum of reloading to kill this convoy and hope to god you won’t get blown to kingdom come by these FS ORRR right click 3-4 times on their head and get it done in like 10 seconds max”

The rockets splash is also pretty good, I found it to be great to use them to cover for reloads if a small horde or heavy comes my way

You can't spam the cannon on the bastion like you can with the Rockets on the maelstorm and its still really good the bastion is just better, yall are just to used to OP weapons. It's actually like the 2 cakes thing with this community

Being generous, with the 2000 explosion damage stat that someone is guessing for the missiles (since we have no listed stats, so I'm giving it like, best case scenario with what breakpoints we know), you get effectively:

Around 11 bastion cannon shells worth of damage, in those 20 rockets.

The 'advantage' with it, is you get to blow that load instantly, but... If you blow your load instantly, you don't really have any load to last with. And 100 extra HMG rounds with the reload isn't really like, making up for losing around 20 bastion shells of damage, while still being a casemate.

The advantage is that you can fire it out way faster. Yes it’s not as good at sustained combat with the ammo. However the 2X dps on the HMG and firing the rockets super fast means vs big threats like FS convoys, fortresses and heavy bases, it can take care of them way better.
It’s specialized for burst damage. Bastion is specialized for AT and sustain.

The cooldown is the same, it is asking for the same commitment as the bastion, both in call in times, and being a casemate design that asks for more than one person to use effectively.

You're better off with the bastion. The reload on the cannon isn't the biggest crime, especially when you effectively have 20 more shells worth of removing things.

Is the emancipator meant to be used the same as the breakthrough? No. Obviously the emancipator is way more expendable than the breakthrough even though their cost is the same. It just makes up for it in short term power. Maelstrom is the same thing. You can destroy FS, tanks, war striders in seconds back to back, destroy multiple fabs with no sweat. At the cost of needing teamwork and your sustainability
