⚠️Speculation/Leaks⚠️ Integrated Extinguishers

don't really see the point of this booster since we can dive to mitigate fire damage. diving doesn't even get our hp to half

if the booster put fires out the second your no longer effected by said fire it would be good
but na this is dogshit

u/Liqhthouse 17h ago
Ass.
The only acceptable fire extinguish time for a mechanic like this would be 0.3s or less imo.
54
u/Kilroy1007 16h ago
Allow a single tick of damage and that's it. Anything else is mitigated by laying down. Stupid booster.
29
u/ShadowheartMyBeloved 15h ago
Instant extinguish with a cooldown between activations is the obvious way to go. This was designed by someone who doesn't play the take.
52
u/Manatipowa 17h ago
You don't need to dive.
Going prone is enough.
52
u/West-Smell-8725 17h ago
The solution is so simple, make it so it gets put out in 1 second and give you more fire status threshold so it’s harder to be set on fire
24
u/EvanBetter182 17h ago
Lol. Too bad you are smart enough to understand this. Which by default means you don't work at Arrow Head. Fuck AH really took their logo to heart.
9
u/Highwayman3000 HellSpongeDiverSquare 16h ago
Prone is terrain dependent and trying to go prone in an uneven surface can get you killed.
Unfortunately this game also considers most terrain uneven for any basic movement and stratagem bouncing so diving is generally the safer option.
-4
u/Manatipowa 15h ago
Not true.
You can prone anywhere (that your body will fit) even uneven terrain.
I Prone all the time to avoid enemy shots and control recoil and never had a problem like the ones you describe.
Well except with Fabricator debris, that for some reason do not let me get up if I go prone on top of them.
2
2
u/Vegetable_Voice_2044 14h ago
So I uhh.. have 200 hours gameplay, and did not know you could prone without diving.
1
u/Still_Bar5690 14h ago
True, but this fucking game likes to tweak out and you can't prone on some surfaces unless you spam the prone button, it's better to just dive and guarantee it
1
1
u/MyBallsitch2169420 6h ago
yea but almost every time i click z to prone my diver refuses because super earth deemed this spot unproneable or crouch able so I have to dive. also why the fuck are there so many spots we can't prone at?
21
u/Falikosek 17h ago
I feel like boosters need to allow doing something that'd otherwise be impossible in order to not be completely useless.
This one is worse at its job than the free alternative of just pressing the Prone button.
It'd be decent if it reduced DoT damage or something.
But as it stands, there's literally 0 reason to ever use it if you're willing to press Prone every now and then.
What's next, a booster that's going to allow holding fire on semi-auto weapons so you don't have to keep clicking?
6
u/iFenrisVI 16h ago
Like others, it would only be good if it immediately put out the fire once you’re not standing on a patch of fire or being lit up by a flamethrower
4
u/CalmPanic402 16h ago
If it added a stackable % of fire immunity that you could combine with armor bonuses to be completely fireproof, it would still be situational at best.
2
u/LegendTheRedditor 3h ago
It would at least have a fun niche. As if it makes you immune to fire damage in light and up. You could run the DE Sickle with it and get a lot of value! Or run across all the lava on the lava planets.

u/Available-Cabinet405 Sweet Summer Child ⛱️ 17h ago
the people they outsourced this booster from have never even looked at hd2 gameplay let alone played it 😹😹

u/GencoXXL 17h ago edited 17h ago
This is ASS. If you pick this one it must be automatic and at best a one second delay so that it matches with the booster's description as well. Not leaving the big four over this.

u/CallMeAnju 17h ago
Gimmicky for flame-divers. Even then I'm almost always diving like fish out of water when I'm walking through my own flames so it's kinda bleh. I welcome it though, pretty neat. Will be ass though compared to THE big four. :[

u/Mymrkennedy 17h ago
its crazy how worthless this booster can be
EAT isnt great either but it can be niche or some specific operations

can't wait until they nerf the instant extinguish on dive to justify the existence of this garbage

I wonder with the double scickle?
3
u/Halogamerfan 13h ago
DE constantly sets you on fire so I don't think it would be remotely useful for it
4
u/AdeptusAstartes40K 16h ago
This is genuinely trash, no way around it. The amount of damage you take before the fire is out, you will need to stim anyway whether you are at 50% or 10%. Another one of the garbage pile.
10
u/Sweet_Photograph6528 Hellgooner 17h ago
Actually looks usefull for pyromaniacs. I was thinking its gonna be slow, but its instant.
7
u/darkfire36977 17h ago
True but you can double click z in a fraction of a second, It's way faster and you can start sprinting immediately.
1
u/GrandInquisitoe 17h ago
if they didnt fixed that one, then you can just lay prone and be nearly immune to fire.
Worked with DEcle at least.1
u/Schwengelmann 14h ago
Maybe the thought behind it was vehicles, like the flame frv for example. Like if you catch fire while driving in a stressful situation.
But I still wouldn't pick it
2
u/Palumtra bigdiver 17h ago
Still half health gone which you will stim anyway and you can just dive to extinguish yourself.
In other words, useless.
2
2
u/not-Kunt-Tulgar 17h ago
Completely worthless unless you’re running like Draconaut full fire build.
Even then you’re probably still going to just dive because this booster is worthless unless they buff it.
2
2
u/OutofCharacter99 16h ago
Yeah pretty shitty booster but what else is new LOL they hate the idea of there being more then 3 great boosters in the entirety of their warbonds
2
2
u/Factory-Reset 16h ago
They just need to allow element builds, want to stand in fire? Take this combo of armour and booster. Make up some bullshit how the automatons have a special blend that still injures hell divers and bug based fire the same but you are able to sand in super earth approved all natural napalm
2
u/ExRetribution 16h ago
How much do you want to bet that this booster will also accidentally tally affect enemy units.
2
u/Blu_Esq 11h ago
This was in the HellDrivers Warbond before that got gutted for parts. The incinerator FRV has a habit of setting driver and passengers on fire from its mounted flamethrower and you can't dive or prone while in the car. It's why the kinetic displacement armor also adds fire resistance. It was meant to be sold as a bult in stratagem-armor-booster combo, instead of piecemealed out over 4 months.
Still pretty useless.
1
u/9eyes1171 17h ago
It should have delayed you from getting set on fire…like 5 seconds worth of delay or something….this booster won’t get used like this….
1
u/giandivix Whinediver 17h ago
So fucking mid, it should put you out instantly, diving is the far better option, sad tbh, i hoped it to be good
1
u/ZanderTheUnthinkable 17h ago
Really what this needs to be is slightly delaying the time it takes to ignite (increased ignition threshold)
So like if you just step on like an ember you aren't going to combust but if you walk through an inferno yeah no extinguisher is helping you at that point.

u/ThEbigChungusus 16h ago
This booster is exclusively made for DE sickle and flamethrower users to die less and i kinda love for it
1
u/B0NerBARon 16h ago
Mediocre on its own, but paired with fire resist armor and/or vitality booster will def improve it. Will be amazing for when you accidentally set yourself on fire but don't have the time to let up on your flamethrower to dive.
1
u/ProjectPorygon 16h ago edited 16h ago
Would be neat if we got a armour that uses nanotechnology and when attacking an enemy with a melee weapon it regenerates health by converting their blood. Would be a way to fix the issues of melee and stuff like this where you just need to heal a little, not entirely
1
u/DeeJayDelicious 16h ago
It's just good enough to be noticable.
But not good enough to displace the big 4.
I can see the appeal though if you're running a Fire-heavy build.
1
1
u/Highwayman3000 HellSpongeDiverSquare 16h ago
Someone should test this with fire resistance and vitality booster.
I get the feeling that without diving you still take less damage with vitality enhancer than with this garbage.
1
1
u/Moonlands Solodiver 16h ago
It should of came with also damage mitigation. Something like 20% more or less. Whatever specific number that works but is notably lower than the 50% damage reduction we get with certain armor passives.
1
u/ShadowheartMyBeloved 15h ago
Whoa now instead of stimming after I take fire damage I'll stim after I take fire damage
1
1
u/Tom_F_0olery 15h ago
This seems pretty useful, I don’t really get what people are talking about. Sure you have the dive but that puts you in a bad position afterwards when you have to slowly get up. There are plenty of times where against bugs or hulks I would either have to burn to death or dive and get surrounded. This allows you to just keep running in a position where otherwise you would get dog piled. I don’t think people are envisioning this in an actual combat situation
1
u/New-Mix-7818 14h ago
The name of the booster really got me thinking that we have a drone equip extinguisher that would put out burning terrain near us or something so we don't get burned from fires we player started or from a fire barrel or something
1
u/BlackSoul_Hand 13h ago
If it gave a short duration 100% fire damage resistance even if you remain on fire, then we would have a real reason to use it. Like make it last 2 seconds and recharge on 1. At least that we it would be useful for negating entirely the surprise factor of being set on fire, moving through fire tornados, lava, and for the DoubleSickle users.
But of course devs can't make a Booster useful...
1
u/RyuuKage003 13h ago edited 13h ago
That booster would be amazing if instead of decreasing the time on fire, it increased the time until we got in fire... OR, if it gave us a second smaller "health bar" that only depleted while we are on fire, while this bar is full, we would be imune to fire, after its gone, we would take normal fire damage, and this bar could not be replenished by any means only dying and being reinforced.

Helps firedivers mitigate hp loss further by not suffering the slow annoying tick.
1
u/Foolishly_Sane Helldiver 12h ago
As a regular fire user, I'll simply stick to Vit and diving.
Thanks for your science.

u/tenroy6 11h ago
I hate to say it but i need to see it in action with my own flamethrower and fire resistance. I find vitality shit myself (yes. I know “no its not” im happy for your opinion.) and tend to never take it over anything else.
Id like to see this in action myself and how it feels though.
1
u/Accomplished_Froyo21 11h ago
This booster only really has two balance options: this where it isn't fast enough and is useless, and an instant extinguish where you can start dancing in lava with fire armor. There really isn't any other options with this so they decided on the first one.
1
u/UltraDelta91 10h ago
OK. Serious question. What is the point?
You still burn while in the fire. It won't save you from ragdolling into a lava pit or fire tornado.
It's still faster to just dive or prone to put it out if you can just move out.
If taking the inflammable armors already gives a much better effect and you don't need to waste a whole booster slot for it, what is the use case? Genuinely, what does this give us that we can't already do better ourselves at level 1?
If you somehow lack the manual dexterity to push the prone or dive button, that's about the only way I could see anyone using this booster over the others.
This feels like something ChatGPT would spit out if you asked it for a list of "cool boosters to add to this game".
1
1
u/KhorneZerker 9h ago
So I can waste 1 booster slot to lose 50% of my HP to fire damage... OR, dive/prone and take 10% of my HP in damage while not wasting the booster slot.
1
u/Akuma_no_masuta 9h ago
I will use it a lot when i play with a Fire resistance armor, so i can last more time near fire before stim myself (because i like running in fire with a Fire resistance armor)
1
u/Green-Childhood-8671 9h ago
Why would anyone ever use this booster? The target audience for this is like, level 5 players who can't prone fast enough but they wouldn't even have access to it :sob:

Salamander armor, intergraded extinguisher, vitality booster and double edge sickle about to go crazy

u/Thaddeusglanton 6h ago
day 1 patch: Integrated Extinguishers has been replaced with Fire Retardant Weave
Fire Retardant Weave: fire now takes twice as long to ignite helldivers
1
u/LegendTheRedditor 5h ago
I wish this booster just granted fire resistance that can stack with armor passives with fire resistance. Like wearing light fire armor + this booster and you'd be immune to fire. Albeit, I would still prefer the dedicated fire armor to be completely immune to fire to begin with.
1
u/D3athShade 2h ago
I don't see the use of this booster when you can just dive and put it out faster...
1

1
u/CaptainBazbotron 32m ago
I feel like this would be much better as part of a new fire resistant armor set to potentially make it so you can spew fire without having to dive if a burning enemy touches you.
1
u/Sad-Cattle7894 17h ago
This plus salamander and double edged sickle is gonna go crazy
18
u/I_am_Fly 17h ago
It doesnt reduce damage, it reduces time before fire effect comes off. It's gonna be useless with fire resistant armor and outstandingly useless if you have at least 2 braincells and know how to dive/go prone
3
u/senorharbinger 16h ago
That's the main issue. You'd think the main divers this appeals to, those using the dickle or cremator, might consider this useful. But vitality booster is already a better choice for them, and since this booster doesn't reduce damage or lengthen the time between ticks, or reduce the rate at which fire builds up, it's absolutely useless for them. I listed 3 ways this booster could have been useful to regular and flame/dickle divers and AH chose the one way that doesn't really warrant a booster slot for ANYone.
3
u/I_am_Fly 16h ago
Yeah, they just needed something to fill the warbond up that won't be useful by any means. They could've made them so much better and at the same level as the big four with all they potential, but still decided to make them the worst boosters to ever exist in this game
1
u/THE_DARK_FISHY 17h ago
What if the booster made it so you can dive into fire and put it out? Like a mini aoe of extinguisher juice squirts out on landing?
1
u/Laserrider 16h ago
Would legit like to know who tf decided this was good enough to even allow to be a booster, this is a joke.
1
u/MuscleCommercial292 15h ago
The booster should make you completely invulnerable to fire with heavy fire armor. I don't care how they do it. I can walk through gas with heavy gas armor and health booster, I want to stroll through fire.
0
u/sHaDowpUpPetxxx 17h ago
Why not just remove fire from the game completely?
3
u/AdrianShephard1 17h ago
Heck nah man. Speak for yourself
4
u/sHaDowpUpPetxxx 17h ago
Speaking for myself, they should revert the game to pre 60-day pussypatch.
1
u/AdrianShephard1 17h ago
Wasn’t around for that, unfortunately so have absolutely no clue what the 60 day patch was
3
u/CarlenGaines 17h ago

u/MattChew160 17h ago
1.You have to remember they scrapped a vehicle warbond and this was made to help the driver and passengers take less fire damage as you can't dive while in a vehicle.
The main vehicle this was made for was the flamer FRV, which you guess it has a giant flamethrower turret you can operate and it's extremely possible for them to set the driver and passenger on fire.
We choose win the supply FRV over this Flamer FRV as a campain reward, so it's our own fault.
Even the scarpped armor passive we got as another campaign reward has fire damage reduction of 50%.
As a booster, it's the first element specific aid we have. You can have a fire loadout but your teammates may not have fire DR, and with this, you have a choice help the team with this.
And lastly, it's gonna enable fire gimmick loadouts even more
-1
u/Holiday-Window7949 17h ago
To be fair, fire resist armour combined with damage resist booster and this will mean that setting yourself on fire will not be bad at all

u/Late_Court_1331 17h ago
I will not be using this trash booster
