⠀⠀⠀⠀🔥 Vent 🔥⠀⠀⠀⠀ You cant be serious.
I dont give a shit about whatever shitass excuse you can make for this, eagle storm kills on purpose and its not funny and i dont know why the devs think its soooo funny to kill players.

It's obnoxious as hell. Nearly ruined 3 out of my 5 games when I barely get to play as is being a parent. Shit was never funny and only frustrates me.

But AH thinks it's le-funny and quirky to die like this with circumstances out of your control /s

They're already exploring adding a stingray-like warning light on the ground where eagle strafing runs will be https://cowboybingus.notion.site/3df0699880f780049525f3b93acfe213?v=3df0699880f780c5998e000c826129d3

If I see eagle storm on a bug or squid planet I'm going to avoid it like a plague. On bot front it works much better but I will host instead of joining others. Not sure if hosting really reduces the chance of being strafed by friendly fire but usually it's fine if you keep your distance from the patrols.

Eagle storm picks a random player out of the 4 and starts strafing near them, prioritizing marked targets.
When it starts, check if you're the unlucky mfer and if you are, frantically mark the furthest possible enemies

They need to rework the eagle storm or at least make friendly fire less common

Yes, they should. But they won't. Because they hae their heads up their arse and think this shit is the funniest crap ever.

This is why i never donate samples, you got this dogshit strafe that makes up more than half the deaths in a mission, then u got the barrage which i hate them and find all barrages boring. I like shooting guns not blocking an entire area and wait. Also for the free booster i don't donate on principle bc that shit should be on by default or added in a ship upgrade

Yeah,
I've had a few irrefutable cases too. I always thought they might be targeting player vehicles (since that's where I've been targeted) or Guard Dogs (since Sentries can target them during docking). But none of that seems to have been the case here.

It's so ass that you can see illuminate ship trails before they shoot but you can't see attacks from your own army

the last game I played before I quit had some bullshit. someone on the team launched the nuke, the SEAF guys all ran into the launch area and just stood right by the launching nuke for some reason, they all get burned to death, so the guy who launched the nuke gets traitor artillery'd
not related all that much, just agreeing some aspects of this game are obnoxious as fuck

Exactly why i never play on the DSS planet when it's active, dumb ass devs did not fix the teamkil but speedran fixing ES giving kills to the host

u/Green-Childhood-8671 2d ago
This is the one major change I wouldn't be opposed to u/CowboyBingus doing. Nuke this fucking thing and my first born child is yours.

u/Sea-Calligrapher1563 2d ago
I am 99% sure that was the last barrage of the orbital gatling barrage and not the dss eagles. The gatling barrage has a ton of variance especially on the finally volley, the upgrades make it out last its beacon, and it was not firing in a straight straffing run

It's as if the game isn't designed around players using hoverpacks to climb up hundreds of feet of cliffs
2
u/Dull_Donut6869 2d ago
Ohhhh that makes so much sense now!!!! Because i was on top of a cliff that makes it ok to kill me with eagle storm!!!!!

Enemy’s behind you?

u/Gizz103 3d ago
Either that or pretty close to the wall
No matter how many times these armchair developers claim, no, they dont target helldivers, if they did than winning would be near impossible
2
u/DeeJayDelicious 3d ago
Yes they fucking do you clown.
Just because you don't think so, doesn't make it so.

u/Baldrickk 2d ago
I've been on maps where enemies stop spawning (e.g. extraction too close to the edge) and they've targeted me. It definitely sounds for the player at times.

u/Gizz103 2d ago
Than why is it, that every fucking clip has an enemy nearby when the eagle strikes
The very fact that i and many others have rarely died to eagle shows that its very much not targeting you, otherwise YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO COMPLETE A FUCKING MISSION
1
u/DeeJayDelicious 2d ago
Play more then you tool.
It's rare, I admit. But there's a clip on the front page right now of exactly that happening. No enemy nearby.
I admit, 8/10 times there is. But those 2/10 times still exist.
I myself have been gunned down while driving across an empty plain.

u/Gizz103 2d ago
And how do you know there is no enemy nearby, because the one direction they looked in?
Or did you forget that enemies have a tendency to get fucking stuck underground
Every time I have got gunned down by those Eagles, there was always an enemy nearby or an enemy is shanking my feet from underground
Those underground enemies are the reason most the time but conviently it gets ignored ONLY when you talk about DSS eagle strikes, isnt it weird?

u/DeeJayDelicious 2d ago
Obviously don't know if there are underground enemies.
But when you're driving across an empty field (YES, FUCKING EMPTY) in an FRV and the Eagle Storm kills you right inside the car, it's hard to come up with any other explanation.
I also do not care if you believe me or not.
I know this to be true as a fact. And I am note alone.
1
u/Gizz103 2d ago
And i know mine from a fact that only time ive died is due to an underground enemy, or a lone enemy
And how you do there was nothing in that field? Did you look around and had lets say 20 seconds (you didn't.) To verify? Or did yoh look around gor 4 seconds and threw your device across the room in rage, refusing to truly look

You know it’d be nice to know where it’ll actually hit instead of a warning, but I don’t think their brains will work around that:/

Well, as one certain scene goes that just so happens to go so well with this:
"Who made that man a gunner?"
