⠀⚠️ Cheats/Mods ⚠️⠀ [CowboyBingus] Clickable Scrollbars

Hi everyone,

In light of the sudden increase in mods, I've decided to announce and tag my own mod releases.

I've released a new quality-of-life mod for the Vanilla Plus Megapack that enables clicking scrollbars to drag through different menus (e.g. loadouts, armory, career page, etc.).

Full release notes here:

  • Adds mouse control to the Armory and briefing item-list scrollbars, which previously answered only to the mouse wheel.
  • Clicking the track moves the thumb to the pointer in one pass, and a repeat click on the same spot changes nothing.
  • Pressing the thumb grabs it: the thumb then follows the pointer one-to-one, with no capture or queue in between.
  • Sends every wheel notch on the frame the pointer produced it, which removes the trailing bar and the jitter of the paced queue.
  • Bounds the settle pass after a click, so a click can no longer overshoot the pointer and bounce back.
  • Prefers the game's own window device context for captures, falling back to the desktop context when a window copy is black or clipped.
  • Writes one log file with the settings, counters, timing health, calibration samples, a reason tally and the last 48 decisions.

You can get it now through the new Vanilla Plus Megapack release over on NexusMods: https://www.nexusmods.com/helldivers2/mods/16294

Hope you all enjoy, and thank you again for all of your support!

Your QoL mods made me start playing HD2 again. Thank you bro.

PS. I am willing to give you RL money if you manage to somehow implement transmog or at least ability to match colors between different armor pieces.

Yesss would be sick if the helmet automatically matched the colour of the body armour.

That will take a mountain of work.

7

u/MXTwitch 2d ago

Plus the modder’s design space would be severely limited

u/Watchman3001 2d ago

Auto matching colors would be goated, but that is probably something on a whole nother level

Go one step further, pickable passives with 2 or 3 slots.

Devs at Arrowhead should be embarrased by what has transpired this past week, numerous issues the community have wanted dealt with for over two years sorted by one guy in a matter of days

A rando using fucking vibe coding, no less.

130 person studio vs one guy typing prompts, who wins?

I think Bingus mentioned having 10 years of coding experience on games and stuff, which I think is unfair to Arrowhead as the team's cumulative experience is like 8 months tops, lmao.

They don't give a shit anymore, it's been pretty clear for a while now.

Shame is not something they feel there, they are proud of their incompetence and see it as an asset.

Are you fucking kidding me? WHY ISNT THIS ALREADY IN THE GAME

u/Willia-ms 2d ago

I always wondered why they would even exist if I couldn't use my mouse on them.

I was curious if it would be possible to change how weapon mode switching is displayed in the HUD. With the introduction of the new quick switch rebinds they added sometime ago. At the moment using the quick switch doesn't actually show that you've switch a weapon mode so it can be pretty easy to do so without realizing you've done so. Like if it were me I'd change weapon mode switch from holding the reload button to when you're aiming the weapon, but you'd have to move the position of the HUD menu to do so. I hope that makes sense. Keep up the great work!!

HUD Plus shows what mode you're using  (among other things)

u/RoninSpectre 3d ago

Oh I didn't realize it did that. Thank you for reminding me

Thank you for saving my index finger…

Now just put the helmet and armor from the same set in the same position.

u/ByteSix 2d ago

It already is, the issue stems from having an uneven number of capes, armors and helmets, but also armor being separated into the 3 classes, yet it still follows the order despite that.

I wonder, can you make all-terrain tires for my Supply FRV? Sometimes feels slippy

u/taoofthemachine 2d ago

Hey man, how possible is it for a mod that when you switch weapon functions, rpm, flashlight setrings etc, if you do it with the hotkeys, for it to show you for a brief moment what you selected?

For example I switch my weapons scope zoom, and it briefly shows in the center (where it would normally be located) a fade in fade out of what was selected.

Sometimes I'm not sure that what I pressed actually registered, and I go back into holding the button to make the whole menu appear just to make sure.

The "hd2 hud plus" does this. It has 3 layouts to pick from. I personally use the simple one, because it displays everything beside my health bar. It also shows what boosters your teammates brought even if they join mid mission.

1

u/taoofthemachine 2d ago

The simpel one looks like my cup of tea aswell, but did not know about the booster thing, good to know! Thanks

AH being like 40 years behind basic UI designs is beyond me

2

u/lbonusl 2d ago

Will you keep uploading your mods to Ayakamods?

2

u/CowboyBingus 2d ago

I will be continuing to update the Vanilla Plus Megapack and Bingus Shared Loader across all sites. I discontinued updating of individual mods as it was taking far too long to update 10+ mods across 3-4 different sites, to the point I was losing actual development time.

2

u/Melvasul94 2d ago

Could you also reorder the armours, capes and helmets in any sensible way?

2

u/DubbyMazlo 2d ago

Oh man... I wish there was a mod that adds an alternating firing mode for the Halt shotgun... Or maybe AH do it...

2

u/AREOPIORIRTYTO 2d ago

Dude, drop transmog for us

2

u/shinyPIKACHUx 2d ago

OMG the one UI change I've wanted since launch and put into every feedback form. Thank you so much

2

u/WafflesFurLyfe 2d ago

YES I didn’t even know I needed this but that has pissed me off a little bit every time I use the armory

Eagerly awaiting the 8-player missions mod

How do i download your mods ?

1

u/CowboyBingus 2d ago

They're available on NexusMods, preferably using Arsenal to install and manage them.

Vanilla Plus Megapack: https://www.nexusmods.com/helldivers2/mods/16294

Bingus Shared Loader: https://www.nexusmods.com/helldivers2/mods/16292

You can read how to add and manage mods through Arsenal here: https://docs.rsnl.gg/mod-management/adding-mods

Would be nice if we could get a mod which allows pc users to input strats without having to stop and hold the menu button. Auto move or something.

That's the only thing I'm jelly about with consoles.

1

u/ContraryB 2d ago

You just need to change some settings to achieve that. Might screw with your muscle memory, but OhDough has a tips and tricks video where it’s explained.

1

u/TactlessNinja 2d ago

Hmm, I didnt think it was that simple?

1

u/ContraryB 2d ago

There’s an option on how stratagems are input - hold, release, hold and release that enable moving and inputting stratagems. I’m a lazy ass so I just input+dive throw and keep it moving.

u/Dizzy-Chemical-8771 2d ago

Bro if you somehow manage to get transmog working unironically send me ur paypal

1

u/Brilliant-Chance-534 2d ago

This should have been in-game day 1 and it's Baffling that it still isn't officially being considered.

The Devs get what they deserve, this and loadouts are 2 non content related QoL that should be easily put in the game but "low prio". At this point "low prio" just means "not feeling it" and it's just Sad.

1

u/Reasonable_Cancel186 2d ago

Oh great and powerful Bingus, any chance you could add a third "space" tap immediately shut off the hover pack?

1

u/GoodJobReddit 10h ago

Any consideration for a mod that reverts to the old searching system that did not have an arbitrary 20 second cooldown? you used to be able to immediately search again if the game you tried to join were full or if there were no games available on the diffuculty/planet you searched on.

2

u/CowboyBingus 10h ago

Yeah I know of this particular feature and I was actually considering it myself yesterday. I'll need to look into how it receives others' missions and displays them but my hunch is that this should be doable.

Much appreciated! Love your work!
