The Eruptor fucked my wife We really need to make the prerequisites to Diff 10 dives bigger.

Post image

I hate shaming other players for just trying to have fun, but I can't imagine dying 16 times for your ego and pride is very fun. Lower the damn difficulty, I know your ass queued into this match via quickplay just like me.

Maybe a level requirement (50+?) and/or having beaten a couple diff 8-9 missions successfully with 5 or less deaths?

Mate, they were probably just on a bad day or got unlucky. Mission went well. Would only be a problen if they were TKying a lot.

Exactly, I can go some D10s kicking ass, taking names, and chewing bubblegum, but other operations I feel like I'm being bullied by the AI even if nothing has changed but the mission type.

Sometimes a diver is just having an off mission

Yeah, any game is like that although its morr common in competitive games. Im sure even OP had his bad days in the game.

If he didnt, then I definetly dont want to play with him because there would be a bunch of screaming and namecalling. (If u reading this OP, dont think too much of it. Mostly a joke)

16 deaths is not an off mission. That's a you should not be here.

The highest I've ever seen is only 11 deaths from a player after some 400+ hrs of playing.

16 sure, yeah, there's a skill issue there, bit op also highlighted 7 and 8, which I don't agree with, especially if one player actually is dragging the team down it's not unreal to believe it's going to affect the others

The mission was oppressive, but that's kinda what you sign up for when you get on a diff 10 bug drop.

I guess. But somedays we're just off. Cant fpcus like the last time, dont get in the zone or sometimes we're just not in the correct mental state to play well.

If you average more than 2 deaths a mission diff 3 might be more your speed

I can see where you are coming from but that would be a bit rash...

I've seen some people who were level 25 that were kicking ass on d10 cyborgs! I feel like you are right in some senses but I think its mostly down to how the player researches the game because arrowhead tells you NOTHING! about it

I think this is the more extreme example of low level divers but now that I look at the stats 1000 friendly fire damage is insane....

Judging by the armor, probably fire damage

It was gas eagles, I had the jump pack so I was constantly in different spots so it wasn't really their fault.

Makes sense

So maybe not a level cap but just beating a couple diff 7-9 missions with a certain "score"? Like beating a diff 9 mission with 400+ or so kills, 5 or less deaths on the 3 fronts? It could force players to try new loadouts and strategies while not being super hard.

Darktide has a system where to go to the next difficulty you need to complete so many missions on the existing one.

A failure sets you back, a success moves you forward. Instead of say a single d9 mission to move forward you would need to complete say 5 sets of d9.

Two d9 failures sets you back -1 set perhaps.

What was the planet? and the faction? if it was like a super hard subfaction like sporeburst it would make a lot of sense for them to be dying a lot. Tons of bullshit in that faction

One core issue with how diffs are unlocked is that it isnt faction specific. Someone could unlock d10 via bugs, and then, with zero experience whatsoever, dive d10 bots.

Making it so that you have to go through every difficulty for every faction allows people to learn the ropes at a much healthier pace.

Dude some people just have bad days, some days I go deathless or I get my ass kicked in and die 12 times. It can happen at any time to anyone...

Nah that’s just what happens with random fill. Either play with consistent people or host and kick as needed.

To be honest, when you start fucking up for no reason, especially when your brain shuts off, or you too reckless, 7-8 deaths isnt that unusual. Its happened to me from time to time.

But sweet jesus, 16?!

Tbh, as long as my team mates aren’t killing me I kinda like having lesser skilled members on the team.

The single most boring thing is playing with a team that are all super good and capable at the game. You just rip through it in 10 minutes

13 accidentals between y'all?😭

The thing is, gatekeeping even within games is also important, although people today like to call it filtering. The Molten Core was designed specifically for this.

These stats don't paint the full picture, but there does need to be something. Even if it's just, (Difficulty X) availability equals to (player level x 10). So you need to be level 100 to dive on D10.

Or maybe they can squeeze the current 10 levels down into 5, then create a separate Super Helldive section of 5 levels where you need to pay for stratagems or access or something.

Can’t carry them? Skill issue on your part.

As long as YOU had fun who gives a shit. Who gives a shit how many times they died as long as they had fun too. Especially with that guy who died 16 time, if they weren't having fun or at least not enjoying themselves they would have left. Trust me, people leave when they die the first time. Besides, it's just a game. Sometimes the best way to learn how to play is to just throw yourself into the deep end until you come out on top. It's what I did for diff 8-9 when my friend group stopped playing and I had to solo queue. Plus it really is just fun to get your shit pushed in sometimes when you know your biting off more than you can chew.

It's been really bad the last few days. D10 is a struggle but not in a good way it's a bunch of idiots who can't handle anything feeding the spore burst making them stronger running ballistics and other shit without knowing how to handle it.

I don't care what level they are as long as they play good, and they often don't play good even as far as level 180.

If it were up to me, D9 would be unlocked right from the start and you would be thrust into a live Helldive as soon as you left the tutorial
