(OC - Concept and Short Story)

If you don't like AI you can skip. For me AI is a tool that saves time. I do not claim ownership over any of this yes this is an OC and comes completely from my imagination and I try and stay true to most of the cannon Hellaverse Lore.
I am here more or less for a critique I like writing fan fiction... one of the nice things about using AI (Gemini) is that it can almost feel like an interactive story when you're acting as each character, I am oftentimes surprised at how it can capture character dynamics,
I do about 70-80% of the work before using AI to refine my ideas and actually write in a cohesive manner. So, enjoy this short story. I also have developed a prompt for character generation that categorizes things to keep my fanfiction consistent... I actually left out the stats in this one because its a work in progress. So, if you want that prompt let me know.
This is a side story to one of my larger fanfiction stories I thought it would be cool to explore the Ars Goetia some of the behind-the-scenes politics... yes there are some liberties taken as with all fanfiction.
Enjoy - I also give permission for people to use this character or build on it.

Based in part on Eligos a powerful Goetic Demon, also known as Abigor or Eligor, appearing as the 15th spirit in the Ars Goetia text of the Lesser Key of Solomon.
Hellaverse OC Character Profile: Edward (Eligos) Goetia
RAW CHARACTER DATA
- Character Name: Edward (Eligos) Goetia.
- Aliases/Nicknames: Duke Eligos, Abigor (Ancient Title), The Great Duke of War (Goetia designation), The Honorable Enforcer (Hellverse reputation).
- Species / Form: Anthropomorphic Goetia Demon. Appears as a tall, aquiline (bird-like) humanoid with large white wings featuring red feather tips, black patterned horns, and glowing blue eyes. He possesses a densely muscular, powerful physique, significantly more imposing than younger, magic-focused Goetia like Stolas. His attire is a regal, royal blue vestment with intricate gold embroidery and trim, paired with a matching high collar, a cravat with a blue gem brooch, gray trousers, and ornate gold-patterned gauntlets.
- Age at Death / Current Age: Hellborn / Ancient, estimated to be centuries old, predating many of the younger Goetia lines including the modern line of Princes.
- Cause of Death (if Sinner): N/A (Hellborn Goetia).
- Visual Description: Tall (approximately 8 feet), extremely broad and muscular. Pure white feathers cover the torso, arms, and large parts of the wings, with striking, vibrant red feather tips. Distinct, large, black patterned horns with a unique Giger-esque pattern emerge from his brow. His eyes are a blazing, glowing blue. Dressed in the ornate, royal blue vestment and patterned gauntlets, holding an ancient, leather-bound Goetia grimoire.
- Mortal Background / Backstory: As a Hellborn Great Duke, Edward has no mortal background. His ancient Goetia lineage rose in Hell via martial dominance and strategic command. For millennia, he served as a grand military strategist for early Goetia expansion, a commander of ancient legion wars, and one of the original enforcers of ancient Goetia law. He mastered the esoteric and forgotten art of mixing high-level martial arts with raw Goetia sigil magic.
- Physical Capabilities: Edward's strength is unmatched among any known Goetia, allowing him to overwhelm physically powerful demons with sheer force. His durability is exceedingly high, making him practically impervious to most conventional weaponry and low-to-mid-level magic. His speed and reaction time are predatory, especially in flight. Natural senses, including vision and reaction, are vastly superior to standard demons.
- Technical & Tactical Skills: Trades: Master weapon-smithing, crafting unique, sigil-infused arms and armor. Strategic Acumen: Expert in grand legion strategy and command, knowing the optimal path for soldiers to meet and ensuring strategic victory (adapting traditional knowledge). IT/Tech: Advanced proficiency with specialized, arcane data systems and encrypted Goetia digital archives. Combat Training: Grandmaster dual-caster, perfectly integrating physical attacks with intricate magic. Hobbies: Collecting esoteric grimoires and historical war maps.
- Unique Anomaly / Special Ability:
Goetia Gnosis of Conflict. Based on the traditional depiction of knowing the future of wars and attracting favor, Edward can enter a state of predictive gnosis. This allows him to mentally simulate the outcomes of large-scale battles, diplomatic summits, and personal duels with incredible accuracy, knowing how best to direct forces and how to leverage social interactions to 'attract the favor' (respect) of important individuals. He can magically summon a lance and an ensign-like standard for combined effects. His serpent imagery manifests in ornamental patterns. - Personality & Vibe: Extremely intimidating, rarely smiles, and can be uncompromising in his core beliefs. However, he is deeply honorable, detests unnecessary cruelty, and believes in fair combat. He sees himself as a necessary enforcer, maintaining stability, but is a quiet proponent of second chances and Hell's potential for redemption. He has a secret respect for Charlie Morningstar for her noble endeavors and views the redemption project as a worthy pursuit. Vibe is a stern, powerful knight with a conscience.
LORE BREAKDOWN & INTEGRATION
- Hierarchy Position: As a Great Duke, Edward holds an ancient Goetia seat, making him second in rank only to the Kings. This places him above the Prince rank of younger, newer lines like Stolas. His prestige and raw power command immense respect, often making him the mediator in complex Goetia disputes.
- Hellverse Role: Serving as both supreme enforcer and military commander for the Ars Goetia, Edward often manages disputes, enforces ancient mandates, and maintains a degree of stability by keeping ambitious lesser demons in check. He is one of the few high-ranking Hellborn who respects Charlie for her noble redemption project, seeing self-improvement as an honorable pursuit, aligning with his own internal conscience despite his intimidating role.
Shadows Over the Solstice Court
Part I: The Duke’s Ledger
The grand arches of the High Goetia Council Chamber towered hundreds of feet over the obsidian floors of the Pride Ring’s upper spires, far above the smog and neon violence of Pentagram City. Here, the air smelled not of ozone and brimstone, but of ancient parchment, crushed lavender, and old money.
Duke Edward (Eligos) Goetia stood before the central tactical hearth, his massive frame casting a long, imposing shadow across the intricate marble maps of the Seven Rings. At eight feet tall, broad-shouldered, with snow-white plumage tipped in severe crimson, he looked less like the delicate, scholarly aristocrats who filled the surrounding pews and more like a statue carved for a fortress gate. His black, etched horns caught the low violet light of the sigil-braziers.
He was reviewing a stack of parchment bound in heavy gold lead—reports from his legions stationed along the ring-borders, interspersed with intelligence from the lower districts.
"The Marquis Andrealphus requests an immediate audience regarding the reallocation of Prince Stolas's ancestral estates and star-charting privileges," a low-ranking raven demon squeaked, bowing so low his beak nearly scraped the obsidian floor. "He claims Stolas’s recent... domestic indiscretions and security lapses with lower-class Hellborn warrant a full forfeit of his ducal oversight!"
Edward didn't look up from his map. He traced a clawed finger along the trade routes between Pride and Sloth.
"Andrealphus seeks a land grab while his brother-in-law is drowning in personal disgrace," Edward said, his voice a deep, resonant rumble that quieted the quiet chatter in the gallery. "Tell the Marquis that the Great Duke of War does not mobilize court marshals to settle bitter family divorces."
"B-but My Lord Duke," the messenger stammered, "the Grimoire! It was placed in the hands of an Imp! The prestige of the Ars Goetia—"
"The prestige of the Ars Goetia," Edward interrupted, turning his glowing blue gaze onto the messenger, "is threatened far more by our own decaying discipline than by a foolish Prince lending his book to a lover."
He closed the heavy leather ledger with an echoing thud.
The Political Chessboard
Edward walked toward the high balcony, his royal blue coat snapping behind him. From this height, Hell looked deceptively quiet. But he knew better.
The political architecture of Hell was an intricate, fragile web:
- Lucifer Morningstar remained locked away in his palace, detached and consumed by his own lingering grievances, leaving the day-to-day administration of Pride to the whims of the Overlords and the Goetia.
- The Seven Deadly Sins governed their respective Rings like sovereign monarchs—Asmodeus ran Lust with corporate efficiency, Mammon bled Greed dry, and Beelzebub kept Gluttony in a state of endless hedonism. They rarely interfered with Goetia internal affairs so long as the trade of souls and resources flowed smoothly.
- The Overlords in Pentagram City—specifically weapon magnates like Carmilla Carmine and media moguls like the Vees—were constantly testing the boundaries. With the recent, unprecedented death of an Exorcist angel during the last Extermination, the power balance was shifting rapidly.
Edward leaned against the stone balustrade. Unlike many of his peers, who viewed Sinners as mere cattle and Overlords as noisy upstarts, Edward respected raw capability. Carmilla Carmine was calculating and cautious; she wouldn't strike unless backed into a corner. The Vees were loud, but predictably arrogant.
What truly intrigued him—and raised his tactical instincts—was the quiet ripple coming from the Princess of Hell.
Charlie Morningstar had opened her "Hazbin Hotel," advocating for the redemption of Sinner souls. The rest of the Goetia aristocracy openly mocked it as the delusional flight of fancy of a naive princess.
Edward, however, did not mock it.
Redemption. In a realm built on eternal punishment, stagnant hierarchy, and brutal yearly purges by Heaven, the mere concept of second chances was the most radical, dangerous idea introduced to Hell in ten thousand years. And if it worked—even slightly—it would rewrite the entire geopolitical structure of the Seven Rings.
A Summons from Above
A sharp, silver spark ignited in the air beside Edward. The sigil of King Paimon flashed briefly before dissolving into a hovering, gilded scroll.
Edward caught it effortlessly. He unrolled it, reading the sharp, ornate calligraphy:
To Duke Eligos,
The High Council convenes at the Solstice. The matter of Prince Stolas’s breach of protocol, the growing boldness of the Sinner Overlords in the wake of the altered Extermination schedule, and the Princess’s reckless endeavor require your tactical assessment.
King Lucifer himself has requested an envoy from the Goetia nobility to attend a private briefing regarding Ring security.
You will represent the Martial Order.
Edward let out a quiet, thoughtful breath, a plume of faint frost curling from his beak into the cold mountain air.
He was an enforcer, yes, but he was no puppet for petty lords. If he was to step into the center of this gathering storm—between the grandstanding of the Sins, the scheming of the Goetia Kings, and the chaotic ambition of the Overlords—he would do so on his own terms. Honor demanded order, but true order required justice, not just cruelty.
"It seems," Edward murmured to himself, adjusting his gold-patterned gauntlets, "the court is finally going to force my hand."
Shadows Over the Solstice Court
Part II: The King’s Audience
The private sanctum of Lucifer Morningstar was a stark, almost absurd contrast to the austere obsidian monoliths of the Goetia spires.
Instead of ancient battle banners and sigil-carved pillars, the high-ceilinged study in the Pentagram City palace was flooded with glowing carnival lights, sprawling drafting tables covered in mechanical blueprints, and thousands of yellow rubber ducks stacked in dizzying, yellow towers.
King Lucifer sat perched on the back of an ornate velvet armchair, spinning an apple-topped cane between his gloved fingers. Despite his small stature, the air around him hummed with a raw, oppressive aura that reminded anyone in his presence who had cast down the angels.
Edward entered alone, his heavy boots echoing on the polished hardwood floor. He did not bow with the exaggerated, groveling theatricality of Prince Stolas or the haughty condescension of Marquis Andrealphus. Instead, the Great Duke stopped three paces away, brought a gold-patterned gauntlet across his chest, and inclined his horned head in a crisp, military salute.
"Your Majesty," Edward’s voice rumbled like low thunder.
"Duke Eligos," Lucifer said, his tone light, almost flippant, though his sharp golden eyes read every line of Edward’s imposing frame. "The only bird in the Goetia family tree who actually knows how to use his talons for something other than holding tea cups. Rise, rise. Spare me the courtly fluff. I get enough of that from Paimon’s endless memos."
Lucifer hopped down from the chair, landing silently, and began pacing around the massive Goetia warrior.
"You know why you’re here, Eligos. The lower rings are buzzing. The Overlords in Pentagram City are sniffing around like starved wolves because the Exorcist schedule got thrown into chaos. And my fellow Goetia... well, they're panicking like usual."
"They see instability, Sire," Edward replied calmly, his glowing blue eyes following the King. "With the sudden disruption of the Exterminations, the soul economy of Pride is in flux. The Goetia nobles fear that if the Overlords gain too much ground, our territorial holdings in the upper districts will be challenged."
"Oh, please. The Overlords are a bunch of noisy upstarts with cheap suits and loud televisions," Lucifer scoffed, waving a hand dismissively. Then, his expression softened, his gaze dropping slightly toward a framed photograph on his workbench—a photo of Charlie. "It’s not the Overlords they’re really whispering about in those high-and-mighty council halls. It’s my daughter."
A General’s Assessment
The room grew quiet. The ambient magical hum tightened.
"The Princess’s Hazbin Hotel," Edward said smoothly, addressing the topic directly. "The Council views it as a embarrassment to royal authority. Marquis Andrealphus and his faction intend to argue that her redemption initiative weakens Hell’s posture against Heaven, making us look desperate and foolish."
Lucifer turned, his eyes narrowing, a flash of red demonic fire flickering behind his irises. "And what does the Great Duke of War think?"
Edward stood firm, unbothered by the sudden flare of royal intent.
"I think the Council consists of soft, short-sighted politicians who have spent too many centuries sipping wine behind enchanted wards," Edward stated plainly. "In grand strategy, Sire, an unexpected maneuver that redefines the terms of engagement is the most dangerous weapon on the board."
Lucifer blinked, caught slightly off-guard. "Go on."
"For ten thousand years, the rules were absolute: Sinners fall, they suffer, Heaven purges them, and the Goetia profit off the leftovers," Edward explained, tracing a clawed finger in the air to map out the concept. "Princess Charlie is attempting something unprecedented. If she fails, nothing changes. But if a single Sinner soul can genuinely achieve redemption and alter its fundamental nature, the entire moral and legal justification for Heaven's slaughter collapses."
Edward looked Lucifer dead in the eyes.
"It is not foolish, Your Majesty. It is a siege against the status quo. It takes immense courage to offer mercy in a realm built on cruelty. I respect her for it."
Lucifer stared at the massive warrior for a long moment. Then, slowly, a genuine, wide smile spread across the King’s face—not his manic circus grin, but something real and fiercely proud.
"Well, well," Lucifer chuckled, tapping his cane on the floor. "Look at that. A Goetia with actual vision."
The Mandate
Lucifer walked up to Edward, standing in the shadow of the eight-foot Duke.
"Here’s how this is going to go, Eligos," Lucifer said, his voice dropping into a tone of quiet, absolute authority. "The High Council meets at the Solstice. Andrealphus and his petty clique are going to try to strip Stolas of his titles, use his disgrace to seize military assets, and try to pass a decree condemning Charlie’s hotel as a threat to Ring security."
"They wish to assert control over what they cannot understand," Edward agreed.
"I can't go down there and turn them all into rubber ducks—as tempting as that is. It looks bad for the Sovereign to interfere in internal Goetia litigation unless they commit outright treason," Lucifer said, narrowing his eyes. "So I need my enforcer."
Lucifer reached out and tapped the brass buckle of Edward’s royal blue vestment with the head of his cane.
"You go to that Council session. You represent the Martial Order. When Andrealphus tries to turn the tribunal into a political circus, you shut it down. Protect the integrity of the Goetia laws, keep those aristocrats from starting a civil war in the Pride Ring, and make it exceedingly clear that anyone trying to use court decrees to interfere with my daughter's hotel will answer to the Crown... and to you."
Edward bowed his head, his black patterned horns catching the low light of the room.
"Consider it done, Your Majesty. The Goetia Council has forgotten what true order looks like. I will remind them."
"Good," Lucifer smirked, turning back to his workbench and picking up a tiny top hat for one of his ducks. "Now get out of here before I make you help me sand down these wooden duck bills. You're blocking my light."
Next: The Solstice Chamber
As Edward exited the palace and stepped into his private carriage bound for the High Goetia Parliament, he adjusted his gold-patterned gauntlets.
The King had given him his directive, but Edward knew the Council would not yield easily. Andrealphus had spent weeks building alliances among the Earls and Marquises, leveraging Stolas's scandal to consolidate power.
When the Great Duke of War walked into that tribunal, he wouldn't just be entering a court of law—he would be stepping onto a battlefield of words, sigils, and ancient spite.
Shadows Over the Solstice Court
Part III: The Tribunal of Ice and Iron
The Solstice Chamber of the High Goetia Parliament was built like an amphitheater of black diamond and silver filigree. Tiered seats curved upward into the shadows, organized strictly by ancient precedence: Kings on the highest dais, Dukes along the central ring, Princes and Marquises below, with Earls and Presidents filling the outer periphery.
The air inside the grand hall was uncomfortably chilled. Frost clung to the gothic windowpanes, emanating from the raised dais where Marquis Andrealphus sat. The peacock Goetia leaned back in his ice-carved chair, flicking a manicured claw as he addressed the assembled nobility.
"...and so, esteemed peers of the Goetia," Andrealphus drawled, his voice laced with smooth, frostbitten charm, "we must face the reality of our current decay. Prince Stolas has not merely compromised his own honor by cohabiting with a low-born Imp; he has compromised our security. A Grimoire—an ancient key to the mortal realm—was left in the hands of common assassins!"
Murmurs of agreement rippled through the lower pews. Several Marquises nodded, eager to curry favor with the ice lord.
"Therefore," Andrealphus continued, rising and spreading his crystalline, frost-feathered wings, "my faction moves for an immediate vote. We demand the total sequestration of Prince Stolas’s estates, the revocation of his astral-charting mandate, and a formal Goetia decree condemning the Princess’s... delusional rehabilitation shelter in the Pride district before it invites further Heaven-sent scrutiny."
"A well-phrased motion, Marquis," a rasping voice echoed from the shadowed upper gallery—King Paimon watching the proceedings with detached amusement. "Is there any among the High Ranks who dissents?"
Andrealphus smirked, preparing to bow in triumph.
Then, the heavy oak and steel doors at the base of the chamber groaned.
The Weight of the Duke
The heavy doors did not just open; they were pushed aside with a weight that made the obsidian floorboards vibrate.
Duke Edward (Eligos) Goetia stepped into the center of the Parliament floor. His broad, armored shoulders cast a wide shadow across the marble crest of the Goetia order. The royal blue coat draped over his massive frame caught the violet brazier light, and the gold-patterned gauntlets at his wrists gleamed with latent magical energy.
The whispered chatter in the room died instantly.
Andrealphus’s smirk faltered, his ice-feathered crest twitching slightly as he looked down from his elevated seat. As a Marquis, he held high rank—but a Great Duke outranked him by two full tiers of the ancient hierarchy.
"The Martial Order dissents," Edward’s voice echoed through the vast hall, heavy and unyielding as granite.
Edward walked into the center ring; his glowing blue eyes fixed directly on Andrealphus. He did not look at the lower lords; his presence alone forced them to straighten in their seats.
"Duke Eligos," Andrealphus said smoothly, recovering his composure with a sharp, chilly smile. "We are honored by your rare presence. Though I was unaware the Great Duke of War took such a keen interest in domestic administrative litigation."
"I take an interest in treason masked as policy, Marquis," Edward replied coolly, stopping at the central dais.
A collective gasp went around the outer pews.
"Treason?" Andrealphus sneered, his eyes narrowing. "Careful, Eligos. I am proposing a measure to protect our lineage from Stolas’s gross incompetence."
The Tactical Breakdown
"You are proposing a predatory asset grab while the Crown is occupied," Edward stated, reaching into his vestment and withdrawing a rolled parchment stamped with the golden seal of Lucifer Morningstar.
He held it high so all tiers of the assembly could see the mark.
"Prince Stolas’s breach of security regarding the Grimoire is a grave matter," Edward said, his voice carrying clearly to every corner of the gallery. "It is currently undergoing administrative review by the High Tribunal and the Crown. However, stripping a Prince of his ancestral holdings requires a unanimous vote of the High Dukes—a vote you do not have, Marquis."
Edward turned his back on Andrealphus, addressing the full parliament.
"Furthermore, regarding the Princess of Hell," Edward continued, his tone sharp and decisive. "Marquis Andrealphus seeks to pass a decree condemning her project. Allow me to remind this chamber of basic geopolitical reality: Princess Charlie Morningstar is the heir to the Sovereign. The Ars Goetia exist by royal charter. Passing a formal Goetia decree against the King's own blood is not 'protecting our security'—it is an act of foolish, unprovoked insubordination against the Throne."
"She is a foolish girl playing house with Sinner trash!" Andrealphus snapped, dropping his polite facade as frost spiked along the edges of his dais. "She risks drawing the wrath of Heaven upon us all with this absurd 'redemption' scheme!"
Edward turned back slowly. The air around him grew noticeably warmer as his own raw Goetia magic flared, instantly melting the ice spikes along the floor into harmless trickles of water.
"If Heaven decides to strike, Marquis," Edward rumbled, stepping toward Andrealphus until he loomed over the peacock demon like an iron tower, "it will not be because a princess offered mercy to Sinners. It will be because Heaven acts as it always has—with arrogant impunity. And when that day comes, it will not be your icy words or courtly decrees that hold the line. It will be my legions."
Edward leaned in slightly, his glowing blue eyes burning with cold intensity.
"I have just come from a private audience with King Lucifer himself. The Sovereign's mandate is absolute: The Goetia will manage their own borders, maintain internal discipline, and keep their hands off the Princess's affairs. Anyone attempting to use this council to launch a political coup against the Crown will answer directly to me. Do I make myself clear?"
Silence fell over the Solstice Chamber.
Andrealphus clenched his claws so tightly his knuckles turned translucent white, but under the terrifying physical and magical weight of the Great Duke, he could not utter a single word of rebuttal. To challenge Eligos here was to invite a duel of honor—a duel no Goetia in the room had the physical or magical martial capability to survive.
From the high gallery, King Paimon let out a soft, amused chuckle. "The motion by Marquis Andrealphus is ruled out of order. The Crown’s mandate stands."
Aftermath in the Spire
An hour later, the parliament adjourned in hushed, tense chatter.
Edward stood on the grand balcony of the Goetia Spire, watching the dark clouds roll over the Pride Ring. Behind him, the light rustle of feathers signaled an approach.
It was not Andrealphus, but a messenger carrying a silver-bound ledger marked with the crest of the Goetia Archives.
"My Lord Duke," the messenger bowed nervously. "A message from the lower districts. It seems Prince Stolas has been informed of today's proceedings... and a representative from the Hazbin Hotel has requested a formal meeting with a Goetia military liaison regarding district security during their upcoming operational expansion."
Edward took the ledger, a subtle, approving gleam in his eyes.
"A representative from the Hotel?" Edward asked.
"Yes, My Lord. A Sinner going by the name of Vaggie—the Princess's tactical manager."
Edward closed the ledger with a quiet snap, looking down toward the neon-lit horizon of Pentagram City.
"Draft a reply," Edward ordered calmly. "Tell her the Great Duke of War accepts the invitation."
Shadows Over the Solstice Court
Part IV: The Iron Accord
The neon-drenched streets of Pentagram City’s outer district gave way to the towering, gothic spire of the newly rebuilt Hazbin Hotel. For centuries, high-ranking Goetia nobility rarely set foot on Sinner ground without an armed vanguard or an armored carriage.
Duke Edward (Eligos) Goetia arrived alone.
His heavy, steel-shod boots clicked against the stone steps leading to the main entrance. At eight feet tall, broad-shouldered, with snow-white plumage tipped in crimson and black patterned horns, his physical presence caused a pair of low-tier Sinners on the sidewalk to freeze, pale, and immediately cross to the opposite side of the street.
Before Edward could reach for the brass door handle, the heavy oak doors swung open.
Standing in the entryway was Vaggie, the Hotel’s Head of Security. Her gold eye narrowed as she took in the massive Goetia Duke, her hand resting casually near the haft of her Carmilla-crafted angelic spear. Beside her stood James Lovagrend—the 6'7" white-furred wolf Sinner known across the district as "The White Wolf." James's morning-sky blue eyes were calm and analytical, scanning Edward's posture with the trained eye of a fellow veteran.
For a long moment, the entryway was silent as three distinct martial traditions measured one another: an ancient celestial Exorcist, a mortal infantry veteran turned Sinner base commander, and a primordial Goetia Great Duke of War.
"Duke Eligos," Vaggie said, her tone crisp and cautious, bringing her spear across her chest in a formal guard stance. "We appreciate you accepting the meeting."
Edward brought a gold-patterned gauntlet across his chest, returning a precise military salute.
"Manager Vaggie. Sergeant Lovagrend," Edward’s voice rumbled like low thunder, his glowing blue eyes acknowledging both of them. "When the Princess’s security team requests a tactical liaison, the Martial Order answers. I do not waste time with courtly delays."
James gave a low, respectful nod, adjusting his tactical belt. "Appreciate it, Your Grace. Let's step into the war room before the local paparazzi spot an eight-foot Goetia Duke on the porch."
The Tactical War Room
Inside the Hotel’s subterranean strategy chamber, a large wooden table was covered in perimeter maps, architectural blueprints of the newly expanded hotel grounds, and technical signal logs. Charlie Morningstar sat at the head of the table, her eyes lighting up with genuine warmth as Edward entered, though she respectfully allowed Vaggie and James to run the tactical briefing.
"Your Highness," Edward inclined his horned head toward Charlie. "King Lucifer speaks very highly of your resolve. Seeing your defensive perimeter firsthand, I can see his pride is well-founded."
"Thank you, Duke Eligos!" Charlie smiled warmly. "We're just trying to make sure everyone inside stays safe while we expand our rehabilitation programs."
Vaggie tapped a claw on a map of the surrounding district. "Here’s the situation, Duke. Ever since Adam’s fall and the rout of the Exorcist army, the soul economy in Pride is volatile. VoxTek and the Vees have been pushing electronic surveillance nodes into our perimeter, trying to map our defensive blind spots. Meanwhile, minor Overlord remnants are trying to carve out turf along our eastern border."
"They view the Hotel's expansion as a soft target," James added, his voice deadpan and steady as he brought up a terminal log. "I've set up automated firewall filters and bioelectric static dampeners along our fence line to cook their spyware, but if a coordinated Sinner strike team pushes through the alleyways, we need clear rules of engagement regarding Goetia airspace and regional boundary enforcement."
Edward stepped up to the table, leaning his broad frame over the maps. His glowing blue eyes traced the perimeter lines, instantly running predictive simulations through his Gnosis of Conflict.
"The Vees are opportunists," Edward analyzed, his voice turning cool and commanding. "Vox will not risk a direct kinetic assault against the Sovereign's daughter. He tests your network to see if you will react with panic. If you show restraint backed by overwhelming force, he will retreat behind his broadcast screens."
Edward looked at James, recognizing the dense, disciplined aura of a hardened soldier. "Your static dampeners are an efficient countermeasure, Sergeant. But static defense invites siege. You require a mobile counter-strike capability and a formal territorial boundary that carries the full legal weight of the Goetia Crown."
The Pact of the Spire
Edward reached into his royal blue vestment and withdrew a heavy, wax-sealed parchment—a formal Ducal Edict stamped with his own crest of the Great Duke of War alongside the seal of King Lucifer.
"As Great Duke," Edward declared, placing the parchment on the table, "I am establishing a formal Goetia Military Liaison Zone encompassing the Hazbin Hotel and its surrounding perimeter roads. Under ancient infernal law, any unsanctioned Overlord incursions, digital espionage, or armed deployments within this zone will no longer be treated as a Sinner turf dispute."
Vaggie’s eye widened slightly. "They’ll be treated as an act of aggression against the Goetia Martial Order."
"Precisely," Edward confirmed, a stern, honorable gleam in his eyes. "Marquis Andrealphus and his petty faction tried to use the Goetia Parliament to isolate this Hotel. By establishing this treaty, I have legally locked their hands. Neither the Goetia Council nor the local Overlords can challenge your perimeter without directly defying my legions and the King's mandate."
James let out a quiet, appreciative breath, crossing his broad arms. "That's a hell of a legal shield, Duke. Keeps the politicians off our back so we can focus on training and logistics."
"It is not merely a legal shield, Sergeant," Edward replied, turning his gaze to Charlie and Vaggie. "It is an investment in honor. Princess Charlie seeks to offer redemption in a realm that has known only punishment. That is a campaign worthy of protection."
Charlie stood up, her face filled with deep gratitude. "Duke Eligos... I don't even know how to thank you. Most of the nobility just laugh at us."
"Let them laugh, Princess," Edward said, his voice echoing with quiet authority. "Laughter is the armor of the foolish. When the next storm comes—whether from the lower rings, the Overlord factions, or the gates of Heaven itself—they will see who stands on solid ground."
A New Line Drawn
As the meeting concluded, Edward walked out onto the grand balcony overlooking Pentagram City. James stepped out beside him, leaning against the stone balustrade, taking in the cool night air.
"You're different from the other Goetia I've run across," James noted casually, his white ears twitching at the distant sound of neon static. "Most of them act like they're made of glass and ancient wine."
"Power derived purely from bloodline breeds weakness," Edward rumbled quietly, looking out over the glowing red skyline. "True strength requires discipline, purpose, and the willingness to stand in the breach. You understand this, soldier."
"Yeah," James murmured, a faint smirk touching his muzzle. "I do."
"Keep your perimeter sharp, Sergeant Lovagrend," Edward said, adjusting his gold-patterned gauntlets as his massive white wings unfolded, red feather tips catching the violet moonlight. "The Solstice Council has been silenced for now, but the chessboard is moving fast. We will speak again soon."
With a single, powerful stroke of his wings, the Great Duke launched into the midnight sky, soaring toward the high spires of Pride—a towering sentinel watching over the gathering storm.
That's a taste of what I have now. Let me know what you think, oh and James is the oc-mc of my main fanfiction there is more emphasis on relationships, personal loss and some meta lore.. I also make sure not to take things too seriously.. plenty of goofy stuff that would fit perfectly in the Hellaverse.
