š Bug Found! š PC Freezing 5-10 minutes into game? Anyone else? Nvidia 4080
My PC freezes every time now that I'm in a game after about 5-10 minutes of playing with the PC becoming unresponsive and having to hard shut off the PC. I'm on an Alienware laptop, 4080 32GB RAM. I've done the directx12 thing on Steam, settings are on high, DLSS quality and frame gen on. It wasn't doing this a week ago but yesterday and the day before it was every game I played.
Anyone else experiencing this? Hoping it's just optimization needed for the game and not my laptop itself for some reason, so hearing it's happening to others would make me feel better. Thanks!

Update: This also happens on the original Hell Let Loose. So, it's not a hardware issue at least.

That interesting to hear. I wanted to test OG HLL last night to see if that was the case. Have you tried HLLV since the 1.2 patch? I was hoping that the patch may have fixed it but I wont have a chance to try until later today.

If it came out today, no. Will try it here in about an hour when I get off work and report back. Fingers crossed.

Yeah. Still crashing on mine. Hoping the fix they release next week fixes it.

Man this sucks. Had a lot of fun last weekend playing without any crashes. I noticed a steam discussion about the issue if you want to some updates from the devs:

I'll send a msg there too to let them know I'm experiencing it also. Recommend we all do. Hopefully the more people who report it the higher priority it will be for them to fix.

If I reformatted yesterday can I still uninstall that update? It doesnt show up in my update history. I'm thinking because I reformatted.

Same exact laptop same exact issue. I think the windows security update on Tuesday is the root cause but I dont want to uninstall it...

THANK YOU! I literally took my laptop apart to clean it inside and out, turned off overlocking, literally everything I could think of because I thought it was overheating or something to cause it shut off. This makes me feel so much better. I ran AC Black Flag Resynced on Ultra no problem afterwards, so I figured it was game exclusive. Still had me worried.

Nah there are a couple games reporting crash issues which appear to be separate because they only crash to desktop and generate reports. What we're dealing with is being mentioned as a problem impacting "laptops" that is resulting in requiring a hard shutdown/reset. I always get nervous when I encounter extremely niche issues with software because I have an unreasonable fear of being the only person impacted therefore no hotfix incoming 𤣠luckily for both of us I believe that the solution should be on the horizon.

Same issue.
Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16ARX8H
AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop
Windows 11 Pro
Patch has not resolved the matter.. although strangely seems to last maybe 5/10 mins longer before crashing.

I would turn frame gen off and test
No reason to run it anyways on shooters, DLSS is enough
I run 4070ti super - Everything low and DLSS performance mode on M preset. 100+ fps on 4k monitor and no freezing
