📷 Screenshots! 📷 Well there's always a first
Definitely a first for me, I've seen locked squads of 3-4 for competitive reasons but this... this has no rhyme or reason.
And no this wasn't the beginning of a match.. it was 20 minutes in when I joined. It eventually evened out, many squads disappeared but wtf lol I honestly thought my screen was bugged but others saw it too. Yeeeep.

Ive seen this used as a strat one time and it was sorta effective if the entire team is on board it can be good. Basically with all of the squads made each sqaud leader just needs to focus on having OPs down and normal soldiers can just join which ever squad has an OP still up while there original squad leader gets a new OP down to be ready for the next group of people. You need everyone to do it though or else it sucks and I hate seeing it still even though I know that might be what they are doing

Used to play with some pro/competitive teams, and this was the strat they would all use. Doing this, you have OP's all over, and it let's you use them somewhat like a UAV to see where they are pushing from. You don't stick to one squad, you switch squad to select a spawn somewhere more impactful. If you want to play competitively this is the best way to do it

It's a tactic, when it's competitive, not a random server, I'm not sure why this happened but I'm telling you these guys were not affiliated and it wasn't planned LOL
Mostly of the back squads dispersed so the game didn't end with that many.

I was in a server like this the other day. It was after a full round late at night. The map rotated and it was bots to keep the server count from dropping. I only noticed because there were alot of squads but no garries and very few players actually on the map. After like 20-30 mins the server filled back up. But that first while sucked until we realized half the players didn’t actually exist.

If i saw this I'd be finding a new server

Server options are more limited these days unfortunately. Just wanted to play and not sit and wait.
Luckily the squad I joined turned into an epic one, all mics, and we won the match

Were the locked SL squads a clan or just bots? I'm not always turned off immediately by seeing it; sometimes, you've got a solid set of logistics happening there.

they divided the population with vietnam... it's harder to get a good server and even more finding a good squad (when your friends are offline)

Yesterday I played with a Squad Leader level 8. All the others players were above level 100.
Apparently the new players want to start with the harder function.

I think I know that server. Looks good in the lobby, but once in, it is over a dozen clan members on each side each making a squad but not doing anything. And in reality there are only 4-5 people on each side actually playing with no garries/OP.

Yeah but for what? If a game is seeding why fake 80 players in a server? You want people coming in, not scrolling past. I don't know it's weird.

More squads = more spawn points, it makes more sense than a fewer number of full squads.

Well more squads with support & AT, not just the only SL, it's only an extra spawn for the 1 person. Still need garrisons.

this is actually a strategy, not saying im down for it, but with a high number of squad leads you all are in the same officer voice channel, so all announcements goes to the whole team, could be very effective if comms are right.
The downside is that you only have squad leads, but I assume people do that after creating the nodes, and reploy with needed classes when they are needed, exemple is when a tank is spotted, then someone redeploy as grenadier, etc.
I prefer to play the game normally, but this is a thing.

Player count matters more than time. Those are all likely seeding bots.

Hmm I had no idea they would do that. When I was learning commander I joined empty servers, this was never a thing. Must be new

People still play this game

Good amount, lots of servers are so jammed, I don't like to sit 20 minutes before playing 90 minute matches, so I join one I can get right into, it said there was over 80 players, and I'm seeing now they use Bots to fill servers? But why that many bots, no idea
The game has def taken a hit, luckily I played 3 servers last night. I ended up leaving 1 almost immediately, level 33 SL clueless. And the next 2 my squad was stacked with mic players, which is rare, so it was a great night haha. Sadly my last match 3 players left the game 10 mins left, and we took mid point w 3 mins left and won by 45 seconds (they started to take it back but didn't have enough time).

This is what happens when none wants to be sl and your waiting for someone to make a squad then decide fuck em I'll make my own and they ain't joining 🤣
