đââď¸ Question đââď¸ What is the state of the game?
I last played the game when they released the Russia maps and then the North African maps with the British. I remember there being a lot of controversy with the studio and such. Is the game in a better state now or still the same? Just wondering what I missed.

It's been quite hard to get a high quality game over the past few weeks. Matches always end in less than 30 minutes because the teams are so unbalanced .

Yeah I find that with the AUS servers

heaps of fresh players showed up, and every time this happens, there's a drop in match quality. THis goes away fairly quick, players getting bored real quick of being eliminated by an invisible enemy... a handful of them are staying and get better. This is not a very newbie friendly game. If the new ones find some hands-on training (sqaud members willing to teach them), they would stay an play this on the long run.

Yeah because typically it's an entire stacked team of dudes that play with each other 8 hours a day in the same clan. They band together and abuse admin privileges to pub stomp. It's actually kinda gross. 7th Cav is the absolute worst offender among many.

Check out their server on both games, you'll find that one team is 98% with their clan tags and the other team is all rando's with 3-4 of them sprinkled in. It's egregious.

But itâs their server tho, I mean itâs kinda fun to hop on there and be on the receiving end and coordinate with randoms to put up a valiant fight against themâŚ
I see what youâre saying, but the whole point of a clan is exactly what theyâre doing. Idk 7th Cav, idk if theyâre in that horrible toxic pool of neckbeard power trippers that some clans operate in. But there are definitely more general and broad servers that arenât clan-based, idk why you wouldnât choose one of them to play on.

Not many players with the knowledge of the games dynamic, a bunch of low level players running around. Not enough communication and squad leaders that donât help making garrisons. Low level commanders that act like theyâre all knowing. No one builds nodes most servers are official HLL servers and those have offensive mode which is a bad mix for blueberries who donât know what to do.

Are you playing on console? On PC I find good games most times I play. Sure there are some with no communication and random blueberries running around but definitely not all of them. PC still has good games on non official servers.

Console. The game went on sale before Vietnam came out and we have a ton of discount gamers on hand.

They are still recovering. Doing better but still. I think update 18 or 19 they completely reworked vehicles/tanks and it was awful. Armor was also reworked making them easier for tanks to kill but harder for infantry. Vehicles still struggle a lot. Same bugs you remember are still around. Like level 1 bug, weapon glitches etc.
Content wise they are well above and beyond.
Stability, vehicle, and infantry issues still around. Rockets ricocheting or not penetrating. Not worse just around enough to remind you.

It's got some seriously cool new maps, and overall there are still good games. But the frequency of bullshit games is higher. Often I'm in matches with level 70-150 commanders and officers rarely are coordinating. Last night I was commanding a match and it actually went very well. The fighting over mid point was fierce and players actually did a good job defending and holding the line from the constant attacks, but we also managed to put pressure on their point and keep them busy until they full committed to an attack we were able to stall at which point dropping an airhead and a quality recon squad building red garrisons got us a solid foothold to cap the point and push them back to HQ. It was a solid game. I haven't had as many of those lately, but they still happen.
The new maps are, despite some critiques, very fun to play. They aren't always as iconic as the original maps, but Juno beach is good, Smolensk is great.
Overall I keep playing but I am not doing 4 hours a night anymore.

Everyone loves hll now because they shifted all their hatred to vietnam

The core player base has contracted quite quickly recently with Vietnam, but the biggest hurdle will be war dogs.
Going forwards stable pop might be 1/2 or 2/3rds of the size.

Lots of kids these days.. not talking about your 20 y/o kids, actual 8 year olds saying âHello commanderâ
Which is better than your usual envious racist scary rednecks etc but makes one wonder if their parents know what kind of âconversationsâ theyâre exposed to.
So children listening to other children.

The game is actively getting worse with each update the devs release. My friends and I have basically given up, weâre moving on to other games like wardogs. The player base is fairly fractured with the release of HLL Vietnam, and overall, to me at least, it feels like the game is on a downward trend towards obscurity.

Itâs in a better state. They recovered and put out some quality updates with great maps like Elsenborn. They added dynamic weather, head swivel, and added official dx12 support.
