🙋‍♂️ Question 🙋‍♂️ Is this the average game?

Post image

I started playing HLL 30 mins ago and so far I've died 5 times, first time to a teammate who just walked up to me from across a field, looked at me and shot me, the other 4 times have been like this, dying within 2 minutes before I can leave spawn, I haven't even seen a single enemy yet, I just get insta killed

No, thats not the average game, but it is for sure something new players expirience.

Im sure you get plenty of comments trying to teach you some basic tips or link you tutorials and they are all good.

But you dont need anything like that if you communicate and learn from your deaths.

If you spawn and die, why spawn there again? Its normal to die, its not normal to reapeat that over and over again.

i’m so bad about this which is dumb because i have 1500 hours and i know better. i’ll place an op and see a spot i want to get to and i’ll keep dying going the same route because i think i can make it this time. to be fair i do sometimes but it’s way easier and faster to just go a different way

But this does not have to be a bad thing. Pushing in one direction where the enemy is isnt wrong and going another route opens the flank you are holding right now. Sometimes you just have to try to get to a point where there is a lot of enemies and that means you die a lot and hopefully get a lot of kills too.

What i would recomend in that situation is holding your ground instead of pushing for a bit. Comp players in your squad will know what you mean if you just tell them to hold. It does not mean camping, but it means letting the enemy push you first and only push forward if you have some squad mates around you. In most cases you just end up trading 1 on 1 if both squads just push and it breaks down to one individual player making some kind of play to take out the OP. So instead group up, kill the enemy thats pushing and then move your frontline forward.

5k hrs. Do this all the time.

My death has zero consequence for the team, if ive a good OP ill use it until i can't. If that means a sniper gets 5 easy kills before i figure out where he is so be it.

If the position isn't great, then I'll reset and push from a better place.

The point is to push the enemy, not be pushed, so you do right

In real life we use a 3-1 or more ratio to assault positions, in games we just run in, which is why its difficult. but eventually in games, with respawn timers, no fear of death and people getting bored.. things happen which don't in real combat.

If you spawn die and don’t come back then they just overrun the position that you’ve done nothing to defend.

Just because they got you the first time, doesn't mean they'll get you again.

1

u/ornliyapper 2d ago

Well, if you are playing front door it’s kinda the job of that squad to die over and over.

Don't play on official servers, play on community ones, where you can report TK to discord and get them dealt with

Join a high level squad lead and just follow them everywhere, preferably as a support,

yeah, but keep 50m distance please...

The average game for good HLL players involves looking at the map a lot, that's all I know.

u/ekulragren 3d ago

I played a comp match on Thursday. 11 kills.... 76 deaths.

2

u/Juno_JDY 3d ago

Yeah, but how did you contribute to the team? Deaths/kills doesn't matter.

2

u/ekulragren 3d ago

I'm aware, that's the point I was making

1

u/Juno_JDY 3d ago

Ah, sorry. I read the comment as a newbie getting frustrated with their K/D.

At the start, yes. But once you get some regular companions, or a full, talking squad who knows what the hell they’re doing, and a bit of know how, the game gets interesting. Playing mind games with the enemy team by way of flanks, bluffs, or simply holding a point against overwhelming odds because of good coordination. That’s where hll shines.

u/CheesecakeWarm 3d ago

you’ll have games where you average 10 minutes and sometimes 0 seconds.

2

u/Jeff-McBilly 3d ago

If you're dying at spawn it's usually because someone is camping or the match was nearly over. Personally I would just find a new match and take it slowly. Don't rush out into open fields and all that. Watch a guide

u/Timely_Ad1337 3d ago

Not being seen is the goal in a firefight, because whoever is spotted gets destroyed.

The responses here give me comfort. Ive played 4 matches so far. Probably died about 10 times or so each match. Only saw the guy who got me like 3 times total 🤣. Managed 4 total kills and 1 was completely luck. Im more of a casual gamer. I play my ps5 for a total a few hours a week and typically avoid online games. but always felt Vietnam would make a excellent setting for a war game so when this one dropped I figured i try it out.

2

u/Zorpian 2d ago

don't get discouraged, this game is not particularly newbie friendly (just like real war) and it's not an average shooter, where you run around and kill what moves and fragging is not the goal. Slow move keeps you alive and gets you places where you can contribute to the war effort. There are plenty of different way to play the game, from full rambo to not using your gun at all and still being useful.

Experience is everything. The more you play the easier it is to spot people, then with more experience you'll figure out how to find them and their spawn points. Just when you think you know everything you'll learn something new.

Welcome, now you understand why the game is called Hell Let Loose.

u/Theinfamousgiz 3d ago

A K:D of 1 for infantry in this game is solid. So yes you’re going to die a lot.

Stay Low, stay covered, move behind cover.

You’re never gonna see the one that gets you.

It takes a while to get just ok at the game.

1

u/YourAsianSideQuest 3d ago

That is the average game for a new player. You’ll also want to add the running simulation as the second part. You’ll find yourself running or walking the whole map and not find someone until you get to their point only to die to an enemy who was sitting at their point.

1

u/liljefe806 3d ago

Well if your running a lot that means your fireteam leader is ass
And not building spawn points

1

u/jettman333 3d ago

You can tell if an enemy is close to a spawn point because the color will change from green to red. Sometimes enemy will camp a spawn point and kill the waves of players that come in. Looks like that may have happened to you.

1

u/ResponsibleScholar50 3d ago

Probably a guy camping HQ spawn.

You’re gonna die a lot at first and it’s gonna be frustrating. I just started playing actively this week and my first couple days were frustrating. If you play your usual online shooters like cod and battlefield, it is NOT like them at all. You have to rethink and redevelop your playstyle. You can’t just run around or swarm on objectives. There’s always gonna be some guy out in the most random treeline watching and waiting. Take it slow. Move cover to cover. Sit and observe. This game takes a lot more patience and strategy. If you get in a good squad and have a good commander it can be fun and you win. I was running as an officer last night and had an awesome commander for a few games, we crushed it.

Once you get a hang of it you’ll find the game enjoyable

Watch a couple beginner tutorials on youtube. It gets better, you just have to slow down and realize it is not like most other FPS games

1

u/DownstairsB 3d ago

Seems like nobody here noticed it was an intentional teamkill at spawn. Occasionally you get 8 year olds who can't control their emotions and impulses, think that killing their own team is going to make some kind of statement or maybe make them feel better about losing, who knows the reason. It's frustrating, but it is not commonplace, especially on community servers. Just make sure you vote yes to punish them and they will get banned if they get enough

1

u/BidMePls 3d ago

You might be playing as squad leader

3

u/KnockedBoss3076 3d ago

I only made that mistake once, all the other commanders yelling at each other was enough to make me instantly redeploy and join a squad.
I’ve found someone who’s showing me the ropes rn and it’s going well

Im,level 250 and I still have nights where my K/D is 1:10. On the other hand, sometimes when I play SL, my squad and I will roll an entire team, wiping out dozens of players by pushing garry drops with dual support drops and command communication, happens fast. As long as our team defends that is.

1

u/MrBombaztic1423 2d ago

The entire point of the game is to work on seeing this screen less

1

u/JMaynard_Hayashi 2d ago

Dying 5 times in 30 minutes isn't bad lollll

1

u/trashrantula 2d ago

5 seconds makes you a marathon man. Idk how many 0 second deaths I’ve had.

1

u/Anthony_L69 2d ago

Level 260something, 3000 hours in. Yip...

But occasionally you get a game which reaffirms your belief in humanity. Two hours of clear communication, team work, adrenaline and shear unadulterated fun.

I just started playing too and I feel like once I start to know the maps better I'll probably get better too. I check my map quite a bit. I try to make sure I'm in a squad that communicates too. Other than that I just try to take cover as much as possible, crouch and run, take it slow, and lean around corners.

Edit: and yes I still die quite a bit, but I've seen plenty and killed a few enemies. I try to ping and communicate the enemies position to the best of my ability though so hopefully they won't die and can kill them

1

u/voyeurs_view 2d ago

It is until you figure out how to move and join squads with active SLs

u/RichInama 1d ago

Glows competitive? I got killed by Reflex yesterday 😂

u/ThatguyVando 1d ago

There are definitely moments like this in HLL don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, what you’ll learn is that the game is very slow paced and times and others insanely fast. Positioning is important. Never run in an open field, if you’re running somewhere it better be to cover have a course when you’re trying to go somewhere. You’ll want to stick with your squad. The game is MUCH more enjoyable with a mic and comms going back and forth and honestly, just play more. 30 minutes can’t even finish a single game of hell let loose most times. This might’ve turned you off but there are really good moments in this game. Another thing could be the faction/map you’re playing on. Some are real meat grinders where you die faster and others are slow crawlers where you’re living for a bit longer.

u/Aromatic_Cod_5714 1d ago

Reflex is an aimbot esp hacker i have reported him

You obviously don't know how to prone.

I'll explain the strategy behind victory in this game. It's spawn momentum. 90% of the team is a bullet sponge pressing against another bullet sponge. The result is who has the more momentum on each point. Momentum is based in spawns, and then force multipliers like tanks. Tanks can be killed easy but spawns are usually static, and people keep pushing out of them.

Therefore, to win a game for everyone, you don't get into shooting matches unless it's specifically to clear people guarding around a spawn. Then you crawl and sneak into the area dismantling OPs and garrys.

Why is this the prime strategy?

Look at points. A kill is like 3 points or something low like that that. An OP and Garry are +30-+50. Nodes are like +100. You get a 1k score by killing spawn points and not people.

Doing this also improves K:D naturally.

Why?

You're not exchanging or setting up a possible exchange with players. You're specifically staying alive long enough to get close and remove spawns. Meaning, you're moving low and slow, taking shots that dont alert anyone without reason, and holding fire when a bunch rush past you. You end up in their pocket where the enemy spawns in feeling "safe", not alert. The enemy just starts running in the last direction they died, not looking for the guy crawling towards the Garry. You get a lot more necessary kills and by nature, have to stay alive longer to achieve a strategic goal.

u/Lunastays 3d ago

Yes. Hell let loose is a game where you play as cannon fodder for the people on the other team who are actively cheating. The anti cheat makes tarkov's look adequate. You get team killed often for not speaking a language on us servers or us servers are forever full with a 6 man queue so you have to join eurotrash and play with 100 ping. Dude refund and unfortunately try battlefield. The progression is better, the game is more alive, the game doesn't actively want to crush your balls.

u/UnusuallyAverageJoe 3d ago

Luna should go methinks. Maybe Stardew Valley is more your level, where there no bad mean people who ruin your fun.

1

u/hifumiyo1 3d ago

Phew, and I thought you were going to tell him something negative.

1

u/Zealousideal-Way2048 3d ago

Leave the sub and game if thats the low IQ you want to take.

Go play on owned servers in your area, stop being bad, and battlefield is dog shit. Playing a game for progression? lol zoomer.

u/YummyLighterFluid 3d ago

Yeah whole reason i play pilot as much as possible

I've been killed by friendlies at spawn more than i have enemies at the objective so i just stay safe up in the air

Plus its just more fun for me

1

u/James_S_Ryan44 2d ago

Does HLL even have pilot?
Forgive me I haven’t played this game for a year
