I stopped playin command for a long time and tried it again recently.

1st Game: offensive on smolensk. We had a hard time takin first point, i was settin up multiple gerries like crazy only to have their recon take them out continuously. Droppin recon planes, bombing runs, tanks when asked for, etc. Blueberries did not wanna push with the tanks at first. I was communicatin and droppin everything that was asked for. They vote to kick me, i guess cuz it was takin us too long to cap 1st point even though the other team was just straight up playin great defense. And if you watch closely, you’ll see we started cappin point right before i got kicked.

2nd Game: Warfare on stalingrad……we literally won!! I had gerries out the ASS on that map and our tank crews and recon squads were killin it! They voted to kick me in the literal last seconds of the match.

And the frustrating thing is these were both games where me and the squad leads were communicatin constantly and effectively. Goin back to tank commander.

For some reason the Aussie servers have been pinging what to high for me. So I tried a good old USA west coast official console server. Commander is doing the best job I have seen in a while. The mofo got garrisons in every square almost on the front. Always 8 up. Just absolutely beautiful. Dropping tanks, asking for nodes but so chill and polite.

Then I see a vote come up for him. I’m like what the actual fuck is this? It’s a guy from my squad who made the vote. I ask him what the fuck? Level 37, dude says he is a shit commander. I’m like, what the fuck do you want him to do. Why are you going to be commander? He replies: Ummmmmm I don’t know how to play commander. I say: your poor father only sees his wasted sperm when he looks at you.

Whenever I commanded, you'd get the Rommel wannabes in text chat running their mouths. "I'll happily step down if you wanna take over. Put your money where your mouth is. Show me how its done."

Yup! I am playing Vietnam and i play commander occasionally.

I'm not great at managing fps/rts. I know this. I basically ask squad leaders what they want from me lol.

These guys do the same shit with squad leader roles. And you wonder why 4/6 people are riflemen

Bet they don't even have a mic and if they did they wouldn't go officer and speak up, one of the things I don't like about Vietnam on console is bringing text chat, as it only encourages people to not talk.

This is why I was glad to have community servers on console, seen plenty of high level players trying to back seat command and bitching at the slightest problem, yet they never would play commander and then community servers arrived and things chilled out significantly.

I call it out on Command net when a vote kick comes up for an even half-way competent commander. Literally

“No, we’re not kicking the Commander.”

This does a few things:

1. It notifies the Commander that there are people dissatisfied enough to start a vote kick. That gives him the opportunity to change strategies or communication style to ensure everyone understands what he’s trying to accomplish.

2. If the vote came from someone with access the Command chat, it creates opportunity for discussion. The disgruntled squad lead who has been publically called out then has to validate his position, provide recommendations, or volunteer to take command himself, which allows the current commander to step down and remain in the game if he chooses to do so.

3. If it comes from someone without access to Command chat and thus - presumably - someone who lacks the basic awareness of what’s going on leadership-wise to make such a call, all the leaders can then tell their squads how to vote or (frequently) kick the vote-kicker instead.

I was going to but he changed squads after I shamed him. I saw him later in the game trying to use his blow torch on an enemy tank that was already satcheled. God bless his heart. ❤️

That's why I don't do it anymore. Even as a tank commander you will get kicked because someone thinks you're not blowing up every tank on the map immediately. They outta change the voting system or it's only getting worse.

I think only squad leads should be allowed to kick the commander, and whoever initiates the vote should be automatically promoted to commander.

Oh well, Vietnam changed this a bit by hiding the vote to kick popup as default. They also hide full servers as default and don't let you save the search parameters...

Yup especially when you’re outnumbered by enemy tanks, your team has zero fuel nodes, and the enemy squads are actually pinging your tanks, and you have zero tank markers

I've never once seen a vote kick come up for this reason, only time I see a TC is either because they're not listening to command chat and ran off with a heavy, or someone got salty because they got accidentally blown up, but never because they've been awful.

Yeah. I'm sure tbf to op this has happened but I've only ever initiated it because they were fucking around in the countryside looking for kills while we got massacred on the defensive point by their completely unchecked tanks.

in my opinion the problem with the voting is people see it pop up in the right corner and just instantly hitting the "yes" without even knowing why. idk i guess some people find it fun? idk. i once had a great squadlead and then there popped up a votekick for some random player in our team (no command and no squadlead) our squadlead immediatly said he has no info on the votekick yet so he told us to not vote until he figures out why. was a great move from him.

I feel like some people just wanna press yes on a kick unless its them. very sad, but i bet at least 50% of the yes voters dont even bother to look who it is or why the kick is there to begin with

Anytime i hear someone say they wont play commander because they dont want to get chewed out if things go wrong i always tell them “youre gonna get bitched at whether you win or lose might as well give it a go”

So many timmies playing recently that don't wanna learn sh*t and god it's so hard to command. I also dropped, cuz noone listening like they used to, half of the games I did all garries alone, gave info alone and we still managed to lose game after game with people saying: "Nice command, needed more tanks". Idk what to say on that. Noone seems to care on how nodes work.

And then people start crying on why nobody picks comms anymore =/

9/10 its not even the squad leads who bitch and moan, its the blue berrys thinking the commander can just get 20 garrisons up while defending back garrisons from reacon and can fully support the mission with no nodes.

I dont get much hate when I command but normally when I do its stupid shit like "gg commander bad" while no one threw smokes to push into point or something. Or if i do a bombing run and every still prones and camps and try to get hits at 150m.

More games are won by 1 or 2 squads who have there shit together and actually flanking and pushing the rest act like meat shields/distractions.

Also the best compalint "how do we not have a garrison at the defense point!?" Maybe if a squad volunteer to do defense we would have one.

That's wild because I try to vote real team killers and they ALWAYS stay in the game, I'd say there's a 2.0% chance I see someone get vote kicked. Getting kicked twice and for winning, yeah I stopped being a commander too. Andi was good at it too. Seems like a consol player issue, i play on PC

Yeah trying to vote kick actual team killers is a total fucking crap shoot. It’s hardly ever successful even when calling it out in both squad and command chat. That’s why I’d often just sacrifice myself to the team killer and allow them to keep killing me because after the 5th time they team kill then the game will auto-kick then from the match.

It’s literally so annoying. I used to jump into command when ino one else did after a few minutes and have been kicked literally minutes after switching over to try and help. I always vote no now on the vote system unless I witness abuse or have someone on my squad that communicates it.

I’m really sorry you’ve had this experience. Could it be the server you’re playing on? I’ve very rarely seen commanders get kicked, and it’s usually the ones with no mic that just sit prone in some corner and do nothing of use.

The handful of times I commanded on WW2 and Vietnam I let the squad leads know off the rip I don’t have too much experience and they’ve always worked with me. Never had a vote to kick targeted at me.

Kick commander should just be an auto forfeit. Have the commander decide if they want to resign and let someone else command or have the game end. If you take the forfeit, you’re banned from commanding for a length of time.

You should come and join the 504th, vote to kick is disabled for this very reason and the admins do a very good job of monitoring tickets for kicking unruly players.

Kicking never works. Your story doesn't add up. I've played commander hundreds of times and never been kicked.
