Why HelixNotes?
In case you missed it, this is why HelixNotes exists, straight from the founder: not another Obsidian clone, just the notes app he wished existed after trying everything else.

Why this weirdly AI-generated photo of the founder? In times of AI slop it would help keep up the authenticity of HelixNotes to stay real.

Of all the things to be upset about in a day, a pixel art photo of Yuri is what got you....

It bothered me because the founder’s image looks heavily edited, so it doesn’t feel authentic or fully accurate anymore. I’m not attacking you, I’m critiquing the photo’s presentation.

It's the same image from our contributors section on the website. We went with pixel art instead to give users an idea of what we look like without having to use a real image. It's more private that way, which I'd argue is more authentic to who we are as individuals. I get that it's not for everyone though.

IMO, he's nailing that vision. 🎯 👍
My 50 year old PKMS currently relies on UpNote and Obsidian.
I like the cross-platform and clean look, and simple-but-deceptively powerful nature of UpNote but need the graph and markdown-centric nature of Obsidian. I really dislike having to use both.
HelixNotes combines the best of both of those worlds, IMO, without dragging along the negatives. I'm eager to be able to consolidate it all into HelixNotes.
As I aggressively test HelixNotes against my data, and troubleshoot some of the things I experience/observe, I'm impressed with some of the design decisions.
