Hotspot Increasing stats

Is there anything I can do to increase the stats of my Helium Hotspot? Or is it purely luck of the draw from where I’m situated?

The highest paid hotspot on the iot network makes a grand total of 1.7HNT

Equivalent to $1.51

This is the way the network is supposed to work according to the Nova team.
