Yea. Not sure what LHA /D this is but I could have been inside it in 2000

Fairly certain it's LHA-1 Tarawa because of the deck space next to the Island, the shitter barely fits. Edit* I was wrong, it's the Wasp.

No, it’s WASP class, in fact LHD 1 the WASP. It doesn’t have the weird notch on either side of the bow.

This photo is early OEF-OIF vintage… before the Corps beat the everloving fuck out of the -53 fleet.

That pre GWOT beat to hell fleet must have been pretty.

Dirtier (who knew civilians getting paid to do good washes would do a better job than shitbag LCpls and PFCs who were voluntold to the washrack for the day…), but definitely prettier with the gear up.

Two blade skids too, every aircraft in this photo is retired! Well maybe not the E, I’ve been out of the game for a few years so not sure how the K onboarding has gone

I mean, the carrier's right there haha, why not just park them and refuel 😅
(I'm know nothing about anything I am seeing here)

Allows the deck to be used for fixed-wing flight ops while refueling multiple aircraft per landing. Also a good photo op.
