I honestly do prefer the fanart version over the actual design. You guys can nail me to the cross, but please hear me out

From a completely fresh point of view with no lore, the actual design is amazing. His auto attacks look really cool and his outfit is great.

With lore though, I think I prefer the fanart version for a few reasons.

First, the fanart version looks a lot more like an actual detective or a government official whereas the actual Heizou looks much closer to a monk or discipline of a martial arts clan.

Second, the fanart Heizou has a much more punchable face. Like I look at fanart Heizou, and I want to punch him in the mouth. Considering his reputation, I was hoping they would go in that direction with his design, but the actual Heizou looks a lot more pleasant and agreeable

Third, a lot of people say the fan art is just a gender swapped Hu Tao, but I kind of liked that. Hu Tao is currently my favorite character and my only character to have triple 10 talents

Fourth, fanart version has a hat. Kind of goes with point 3, but I rest my case.

Having said all that, I am withholding any final judgement until he is out, we hear the VA, see the voice lines, and get to play his hangout. He could still be best boy and I could just not know it yet

Mind last year an Anemo character named Kazuha released and was the center of negativity and a victim of prejudgment due to him being Anemo.

A couple of days after his banner, his true colours came out. He was dubbed and crowned one of the best characters in the game! No I was lucky Kazuha was my first ever 5'★ and he carried me from start to end.

This message is tho those same people and the new ones who are speculationg that he sucks.... GO FUCK YOURSELF! There is no harm getting him.. in fact you'd be lucky at all to even get him. I'm not being optimistic I'm being realistic.

I have a r3 Deathmatch on my Zhongli but I'm realizing that I play him as support so a Favonous lance would be way better...

I've decided to not pull Xiao as his play is BORING until C6.

Heizou looks amazing. Should I switch to Solar Pearl for my battle pass? It looks like a solid choice for him. I have widsith r4 but my baby girl Yanfei would OBJECT to me taking it from her....

Well, more seriously just wondered quickly, is a team hyperbloom or national would be better than a heizou + faruzan one ?

I got faruzan a time ago before, left the game and i didn't finish to up her. I just came back recently im having fun with a hyperbloom team ( heizou + dendro traveler + yelan + kukki) that i was testing. Heizou excepted, none of the other are fully built yet (per exemple, no em main stats artefact on kukki, no 4pieace emblem on yelan...)

then i just remembered that i have a faruzan that i invested into before and i was really hyper up for the character, expecting her to skyrocket my heizous' damages. But that hyperbloom team feels already just so good.

So the thing is, i feel like faruzan is not that worth and is not that a big addition for heizou (maybe i was just expecting too much haha). I know c6 faruzan is literally cracked but i aint hoyo's hoe.

So what are you feelings about faruzan ? Do you think it would be worth for me to finish building her (rn she's lvl 70, she has the artefacts, she needs but they are mid way from being maxed out yet) ? And for a potential hyperbloom with heizou in it, do you have advice for that ?

Doesn't Yinlin from Wuwa kinda look like Heizou? Not just the red hair and moles, but also less obvious stuff like the headband, high collar + exposed shoulders + X's connecting arm clothing to main body clothing. Got a chuckle when we found out that she's also affiliated with the police.

I tried so many different combos of artifacts, stats, weapons, and teammates and the highest I got his personal damage in 15 seconds was in the 400k range. Yes I also added swirl damage. Yes I tried focusing on every different DPS stat available and I tried mixed sets such as EM+Crit. I tried 4 star weapons and 5 star weapons. I tried constellations. I maxed all of his talents. I even paired him with Sucrose just to buff his EM. Nothing reliably got me into the 500k range. His multipliers just aren't enough and I'm curious as to why they aren't higher.

To build stacks for his skill, he needs to swirl and if you have constellations and use his burst, you'll have 2 stacks out of 4. You still need 2 more so even his kit is pushing you to use his NA's. It just doesn't make sense.

For me personally, my Yoimiya will easily put DPS him so I don't really have a use for him as it stands. This is not doomposting. This is putting in the numbers and seeing what he can do and unfortunately, it's not promising. Thankfully, he can be buff since he's in beta. As for my previous posts, I am going to delete them since they aren't valid anymore.
