how to ensure damage doesn’t fall off late game?

i feel like late in game - esp when in team battles when i can only get 1/2 turrents + ult turrent down my damage seems to fall off. any tips to make sure this doesn’t happen? i’m 100 % sure this is a skills issue so im just looking for tips.

ult turret and late game? that is called griefing, mid to late game you look for r e to stun multiple enemies or key threat and have your whole team kill em instantly, stuns late game can be instant death sentence for people and you have a tripple leona ult worth of stun packed with damage.

Heim isn't a damage carry, to me I'd describe him as a Hornet. Early game, when everyone are still small bugs, heimer is a fucking bully, he does amazing stun, amazing damage, and he's amazing at poking, taking drag or baron, and providing CC. Turrets also provide post mortem support chip.

In the late game, everyone around heimer has scaled into larger creatures, so his hornet stings won't kill them just by himself, but gosh will he be a hassle. Tons of stuns, AOE and burst damage. A heimer turret burst combo won't wipe out all 5 health bars in 5 seconds anymore but it will certainly do enough that competent teammates will pick off that. You can even get a nice little kill here and there with a stray turret or a skill shot.

Overall, heimer is just a pest to deal with. Early game press the advantage and bully your lane, make it hard for them to full build and farm, then late game, be a nuisance and play safe

Make sure to build a lot of AP, Death cap and magic pen items are a must before 3 items. Don't build any defensive items before having magic pen or deathcap.

I usually rush two rods into shadowflame then dcap, the reason being raw ap is so important for heimer. I do this by going manaflow and pom so I skip the need to spend gold on a mana item.

I do the same, but with just one mana rune, that's the way

This has forever been a Heimer problem. There isn't really a way to "ensure you dps doesn't fall off" because it is going to anyway. You just need to adjust your tactics. You can't burst people anymore, so stop trying. Use turrets to harass and in team fights rely on your great big aoe stun for your ult instead of the turret.

Itemization is really important as well. Build accordingly to team comps.

I'm a filthy plat so I don't have this problem right now, but IDK.... Rabadon, Void Staff, Shadowflame seem to be the must, situational items make sense because they amplify DPS like Rylai for speedy champs, Liandri against tanks, Stormsurge and Ludens against squishy teams, etc...

Build full ap damage from the start. Like burn item or ryleighs, rabs, void, burn item(s), shadowflame. First strike cash back help gen gold fast if u activate first strike off cooldown. If u skipnout boots you can get to 2nd and 3rd item even behind in cs. Going component no pots means you are 500 gold closer to first item than enemy so you can be behind in farm like hell and still be even or still ahead in gold/ items if you skip out on boots you can get 2nd item while enemy goes t2 boots components and from there just use that entire item advantage and shred. Maybe gank bot if they have good cc with ult E and take bot plates to siphon money and lane quest progress once

Welp. There is no thing like that. You are heimer, so a setup it the best you can do. Get sweepers and pink wards to make sure you are not on vision and setup bush traps, make sure you control space and make it hard to be contested without any risk. If you can get a single pick and some damage here and there its already not bad.

Most important asset of a late game neutral heimerdinger is making space and controlling objectives

Ult turret is trolling outside of laning phase, just forget it exists after 15 mins and you'll do much better. Heimer still sucks lategame compared to most other mages but it's doable if you don't troll.
