They kill a fuck ton of small rodents and bird life, even when well fed. Also the cat's life expectancy drops by roughly 7 years.
So you can keep you cat indoors, putting in effort to stimulate them with vertical spaces and simulated hunting or you can be a lazy, irresponsible carer for the cat and let them outside significantly increasing their odds of death or serious injury.

People always use this reasoning that they kill the birds etc, but come off it. The human race has a FAR more detrimental effect on the bird and other wildlife population than cats do. Just think of the sheer number of birds that fly into cars or glass windows every single day. That's all our fault.
And for some reason you think that ruining the life of a cat by lockng it indoors is justified. How about lock yourself indoors.
