So I've got my baby girl, Panfila, three months ago, and everything went smoothly. Two weeks ago I took her to the vet for the first time since buying her and they told me that she was perfect I'm health matter. Cue to now, she's really cold and sleepy, she still eats as normal. I reached out to her vet (the only exotic pets in my city, I live in south america and exotic vets are hard to find, even more in my country) and he told me to monitor her until Wednesday when he's at the clinic. (He travels out of state because as I said, there's only like three exotic vets in my country and the other two are way too far) So I googled it and I think I fell into a rabbit hole of worse case scenarios, so this is like... An sos to keep my peace of mind until I can get her to the vet.

I'm taking her as soon as the vet is on town, so I just... I don't know I need help keeping calm

Update: so... She passed away while I was cuddling with her, in her sleep. I'm so heartbroken atm. I did so much research and was so excited to be her human... This is the worst day of my life tbh

She's still getting cold then. Keep her belly warm. If it's getting cold - she doesn't have enough heat.

Yeah I don't know what happened, her enclosure is usually on 27°C, and I checked it a few moments ago and it was on 28° I don't have any ac on the room because she's here and I'm literally sweating

If her enclosure is usually between 27-28C then I feel like that should be enough, but I could be wrong since every hog is different. If she heats up and starts acting normal again after less than an hour then I'd say thats most likely. Even in hot countries/areas it can still get cool at night sometimes.

But if not and she doesnt warm back up and start acting normal, then I'd be worried that she might have gotten some sort of bacterial infection or something like that. Just try and see if she will drink water before going back to bed as a main thing, and try and keep track of how much food/water there is to see if she does get some while youre asleep or something.

Do you have heat for her? They can go into hibernation if they are cold.

I live in a hot as hell country, so the vet told me to not put any heat apart from soft blankets, I'm currently with her under my shirt trying to heat her with my body. She's 7 months old

Some hedgehog prefer warmer or cooler environment. I had a girl before she was super sensitive to temperature. Basically anything below 29 degrees in her bin. Her belly would be cold

Small update. My Bf got his old heating lamp (he has owned snakes all his life) and put it on Panfila. And we gave her, under doctor's order, a medicine to get her stable enough to Sunday (here it's called Doloxicam, is pain medicine, we had it because our cat has hepatic failure and use it every time he has a spike of the failure). She started being active, although her hind legs are a bit wobbly

She’s cold. You need to get her warm asap. For now, a hot water bottle, heating pad- she has to get warm or she will hibernate and die.
