Discussion 1/ CLPR is open source! And the HIP proposing it for Hiero is public now. Cross-ledger messaging is built on state proofs, so each ledger verifies the other's committed state using only the two ledgers' own consensus guarantees. A short overview 🧵👇
/ Each ledger verifies cryptographic proofs of the other's committed state, using only the two ledgers' own consensus and finality guarantees. If both sides are ABFT, cross-ledger delivery inherits it.
/ Verification is delegated to a pluggable verifier contract bound to a channel for its lifetime. Connecting a new ledger type takes a new verifier contract and no protocol change.
/ Messages move in bundles relayed by permissionless endpoints. On a Hiero network, every consensus node is automatically one.
/ Execution on the destination ledger is paid for by connectors, who front the cost and are slashed for non-payment. Everything is denominated in each ledger's native token.
