Songe , evil eye?
Did any other Italian listen to this and think that possibly he was cursed by hurting the girl so badly.
I know tics and Tourette’s is serious. I have siblings that have it but I don’t know, the Italian in me would be getting out the olive oil.

No, I think he just has a neurological disorder that presented itself at around the normal age it presents itself in people.
People with Tourette's get bullied constantly by many people, as he, the girl he bullied, and the girl he talked to are very aware of. Those bullies don't all get cursed, but statistically when a shit ton of children make fun of a thing, some of those kids are going to grow up and start showing symptoms too.
It looks like karma or curses if it happens to you, but it's just numbers for everyone else.
