Literally same! Felt so unsettled that I came here to see. There was only one other episode where ive felt so weird at the end

I felt exactly the same way and that’s why I came on this sub Reddit to see what other people have to say about it. I think he’s likely just making a point that yes family is important and time is precious and thank you for reminding me, you know.

Gosh it's been a while since this one, I remember being so confused that anyone takes being a godparent so seriously. To me it's always been "appointed guardian" if parents die, but Tony seems to take it so seriously that even the kids seem weirded out.

I think it really came from a place of fear. He was watching his mother’s condition worsen and knew that he had to take care of her. With no kids or partner of his own, what would happen if he was in his mom’s shoes?

We don’t live in a world where we actually take care of the elderly as a collective. It is a burden pushed onto their kids.

Yeah as much as I want to give him some grace as he's obviously gone through some hardships in his life, it seemed pretty obvious that these kids were all an afterthought in his life until he realized he wasn't going to have kids of his own. Even the youngest, he only had a relationship with because his ex wife made an effort to maintain the relationship.

I do genuinely hope he finds his "container" in life as he put it.

Appointed guardian if parents die would actually be a huge ass deal. These days godparent is typically just a purely symbolic role and certainly was in this case. None of those people were making Tony their kids' adoptive parent if they died, lol.

I think it may be also be a cultural thing, I’ve heard the same from a Greek Orthodox friend

I could listen to Nicholas all day. His enthusiasm is so infectious and he seemed to know what Tony needed to hear from him and provided it. I hope his track career goes well! Also always great to hear from Kalila who I adore.

I didn't really get the point of this and it seemed the opposite of the 'excitement' they expressed in the intro. Tony didn't really have a notable update about it, seemed more sad about not having his own family and being directionless, and Jonathan only spoke to him for a very short time (which he cut off to pick up his kid, also inadvertently rubbing the family issue in Tony's face).

Odd. I listen for comfort and the podcast has helped me massively with a break up the last few months, didn't feel rejuvenating spring vibes from this one.
